No offense, but Maxima isn't close to being a Civic R. And it can be the best CVT, still a CVT.

People (including members here) yawn at Q50s. You shouldn't be surprise that nobody here is buying into that 4DSC slogan.

It's a Camry XSE /Accord EX-L that has a distinguished look. It's plenty comfortable and interior is handsome. But that's where the story ends bud.

A sporty car? Guess it depends on one's definition of sporty. Sounds like it would be a sporty grocery-getter to me. Ie, better performance than your average grocery-getter but still a grocery-getter.

A sports car? I don't think the Maxima fits in anyone's definition of sports car. Or at least anyone that I would listen to.

I think if the Maxima had a geared AT, I'd really consider one. I was opposed to the 8th gen styling but after driving a few of them I grew to like it.

I dunno, but I just found out about Ford Fusion Sport with the 2.7 V6 with 325hp and 380TQ and AWD. Thing is legit quick!!

Numbers aren't everything. I wonder just how well the auto shifts. How well does the car stick in corners. I imagine it's fwd bias?

I had a CVT in my '08 Altima 3.5 and it was fine for the 65k miles I had it. I beat the crap out of it too. They definitely have heat problems and I drained and filled the fluid every 15k. Probably overkill but it was peace of mind. Probably luck of the draw but either way no more CVT for me. They sound stupid when you're on it.

the one thing i like about cvt is no shiftshock at those in between revs planetary AT's have. regular AT is so annoying in traffic.

Agree. normal driving I actually liked it. Get on it....and it sounded like crap
