Talk me out of a Z06 please

I can't get the new Z06 out of my head. Im not big into american cars or american muscle. I currently have a boosted Nismo Z putting down 500+ at the wheels and I'm still paying on it but its getting close to paid for. Am I crazy for thinking about selling it for a Z06? And before anyone says it yes I could afford a new Z06 but obviously the payments would be a hell of a lot more than my current Z payments. Another factor is my Z will be due for emissions testing in a year and a half and theres not a chance in hell it will pass so I would have to get creative with that. What would you guys do??

Keep what you have and figure out a way (temporary or not) to get it to pass smog testing. It's almost paid off and is a much better looking car (my opinion of course).

Get the Z06, that's one hell of a car. I was entertaining the same car a few months ago, but they insulted me with the offer they wanted to give me for my NISMO so I told them to F$#* off and haven't looked at another on since.

Of course they are going to low-ball the hell out of a Japanese sports car. Personally, I wouldn't give them two cents for a Vette, ZO6 or not. The back ends of them are ugly, and the interior is absolutely hideous with very cheap looking materials used.

If I had a new ZO6 and base Z sitting in front of me, free for me to take, I'd gladly take the base Z every time. It's a hell of a lot better looking car inside and out.

Again, all of this just my opinion, however many agree with me.

A base Z over a Z06???
No way in HELL bro, I'd give up mine any day if it were car for car.

Again, personal preference.

To me, the Vettes are hideous in the rear and inside, and the Z is the exact opposite. They're good looking all the way around. So why would I pick the Vette over the Z? I don't pick a car strictly for performance. If that were the case, I'd be driving around in a new Mustang GT right now instead of the Z. But again, that car is good looking on the outside but cheap and ugly on the inside, hence why I chose the base Z.

And I chose the base Z over the Sport because I didn't want the 19" Rays, the rear spoiler, or any of that electronic noise cancelling/piped in exhaust sound crap that comes standard on the Sport. Oh, and I certainly don't need a tiny display that tells me what gear I'm in. That's just totally useless. I'm not going to pay for stuff I don't want. The only thing the Sport has going for it is the larger brakes and VLSD. But for $500 I can have just as good brakes if not better with slotted rotors and carbon pads. The diff (if I decide to upgrade it), another $1500 installed.

Again, it's all personal preference.

If someone wants to be a Vette or a Mustang, go right ahead. It's your money and what you like. No problem with that at all.

The Z06 is on a different level. If you can afford it, get it. However, for that price, is it truly the best car you can get? Would you consider a used 911 Carrera or GT-R? Perhaps a new M4?

I like the M4, but it's a joke for that price and performance.
