This is the point I was trying to make. Let me put it this way GM is the only manufacture I've worked for at a large dealer that had 3 designated heavy duty techs (meaning engine r&r and rebuild all day long), 8 designated drivability/elec techs (myself included), 1 designated trans/driveline tech. And there was enough work to keep us all busy in that field (heavy duty even backed up for 3-4 weeks at a time). You simply will not see this is in a Japanese shop as most work is all 90% service and brakes (boring).

I know ford is similar to GM setup as is Chrysler but I would not buy one of those either.

For what it's worth, carbon ceramic brakes are a liability for the people who will really use them (on the track). It's not affordable to spend $8k on rotors every 10 track days, nevermind the performance doesn't justify it. If I had that option, first thing I'd do is take the calipers and rotors off, sell them, and replace with an AP Racing kit.

I would stick with the Z since it's boosted so pretty fast and you're almost done paying it off. It feels great to have no car payment. If you had a ton of money and would just buy the z06 outright and have no worries about upkeep, I'd say go for that. BTW, you are probably getting a manual, but if not, the c7 auto transmissions overheat.

If you want real bang for the buck you cant go wrong with a C6 ZR1 like my 13 for sale,lol....638HP and rare to see... The Viper is > the C7 Z06 especially at the track when the Z06 overheats after 2 laps,lol..My 14 Viper...

I might end up going for the 2017 Grand Sport instead of the Z06. Maybe

The 2017 zo6 is getting a new cooling system to over come the heating problem of 5% of zo6 owners have been getting according to this link.

Congrats, they are badass as long as you didn't buy it for a track car.
