Oh yea bulletin about that too. GM states, normal. |
I still love my 370Z but even the Z51 is a lot nicer car. My Z is supercharged and it took me 2 years to get the cooling right and a lot of money, boost on a track car is a pain in the butt to keep cool!

No it hasn't but I've only had it a few weeks. Has your steering lock gone out on your Z? What car doesn't have issues? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nope but mines a 2013 and sure I'll allow one issue here or there as you say all have problems but being I've had the luxury to work on MB, vw/Audi, Acura, and Chevy throughout my career I can tell you first hand the Japanese are the only ones left that actually put honor into their product and care about their name. As you say you've only had you z51 a few weeks, might want to wait a couple years before you give it the superior to the 370z rating. Also when Japanese have an issue they tend to redesign/update the parts with issues (although Nissan csc is a bad example of that and poor choice on Nissan), the others just tend to replace until out of warranty and now it's your issue unless they get a class action law suite and forced to cover it under lifetime then all of a sudden their is a revision (vw/Audi 1.8 coils anyone?). Seen more blown engines and worn valve train with Chevy than anywhere else. However I would take a Chevy over vw/Audi their **** is just terrible. I'll just leave this, car hasn't had a good start. 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51 Manual – Long-Term Test Wrap-Up – Car and Driver Also this sums up a corvette perfectly, get some miles on them and all the squeaks, creaks and rattle come up. They just do not have the same level of build quality. http://www.motortrend.com/cars/chevr...view-update-6/ |

Don't get the Z06 OP. There, I'm talking you out of it.
Get a manual C7 Grand Sport instead. That's a legitimate American made GT3. |
I too was in the market for a C7 Z06 but I can't ever forgive GM for that ignition switch issue, plus reading this blog pushes me more away from the car lol...

The only argument I could make is your going to lose a large sum on the Z. I see what guys are selling TT cars for on here and it's got to be a huge loss when you factor in setup cost, labor, and initial cost of car. The Z06 like all the other super car chasers are going to be a lot more expensive maintenance wise. There is a head to head on netflix pitting it against a viper. The end review was essentially for the cost they felt the Z06 was just not finished and felt like it was hastily thrown together. Than again my NISMO interior feels very spartan and minimal so that probably isn't a good comparison.

Go get the z06, I saw one yesterday sounded bad ***. Actually, the only GM vette I would get but too expensive for me.

If you already own property and have your finances in order, I'd say get the Z06. It sounds like your z is a beast, but you will get bored of the Z06 and want something else later. There is only so much you can do with a car that hot on the street. I would do a c7 grand sport if I wanted something new or a used 911,lotus, gtr, audi R8, Aston Martin, viper or something less common over a Z06.

That's a great looking car all the way around. Dodge certainly did their homework and made the right choices. Chevy, not so much...
