BMW engines in themselves are reliable. It's some of the components related to the engine that aren't (like the High pressure fuel pump debacle from a few years ago). I'm not sure to what extent each company is responsible for building the car, but it would make absolute sense for Toyota to feel secure about the product being released that will ultimately bear it's name.
That's not to say it won't have issues. I'm sure it will. But even every Toyota these days seems to have some sort of recalls, or what not. They're no different than any other manufacturer, in that regard. |
