Companies share resources on projects like this because sports cars aren't a profitable segment, and developing a new chassis and power train to fit it is expensive.
While i'm sure Toyota would love to reward a "hardcore" fan like you with a "pure" sports car designed and manufactured entirely in Toyota's Japan HQ and plants, its simply not the market we live in today. Also, its not entirely clear what each company is contributing - who's doing the chassis tuning? BMW is doing the gas engine, Toyota is doing the electric ****. Lastly. The BRZ/GT86/FRS was actually helped by Subaru's involvement. Its engine was much more accessible than a Toyota engine that might be locked up tight for emissions purposes. And Subaru does build quick cars, so they know what they're doing.
