The shape looks great, and a lot of the renderings look good. Some of the renderings look terrible though. Hopefully they don't do something stupid like how they restyled another car that just came out...

UNKNOWN_370 11-12-2016 05:08 PM

This looks like a newer version of a 240z.. So this car will come out before the new Z. Then the toyomo's.will see our retro Z and say we copied off of them....

Go Nissan!!! :koolaidwall:

:iagree: At first look it does look like a prelude lol hideous..current Toyotas are all hideous, but this takes the cake.

I dunno. I like it. If Toyota makes that and it is around the same price and performance as the Z, looks like I'll (we'll?) have some serious thinking to do...

Cyber370 11-15-2016 05:00 AM

Ah geez! Call me old-school but electric motors and regenerative braking? No thanks. I like my sports cars simple and raw. I can accept ABS, traction control (as long as it can be turned off) and maybe a camera. That's it.

PS: The simplicity is what drew me to the Z.

dont forget hydraulic steering.

modern car made correctly = STI very old skool. i luv it. Z is kinda old..

I totally agree with this but.... I think the STi already looks dated and it's fvckin new. But I respect the performance.

Oh yes. The steering is what got me hooked when I test drove my '16 Z. I have yet to drive an electric steering car that I like. I think that for now, it is physically impossible for electric steering to feel the same or better than hydraulic.

I just hope that the new Supra will not have steer-by-wire. Now that is a cluster f*ck and more manufacturers are going that route. It's supposed to be the next generation of steering systems that no one wants.

kenchan 11-16-2016 08:11 PM

Electric steering feels artificial but on my GTI with ample torque, no torque steer is a good thing.

I monitor any news about the Supra daily, and there are absolutely no pictures or specs of the final production car. It is all speculation. That is the correct answer...prove me wrong.
