The IDX set to be produced in 2018!!??

2018 Nissan IDX Specs, Release Date | 2017 / 2018 Nissan and Infiniti Cars
DISREGARD

This is official news guys!!! After being disqualified for production in 2016. It looks like we will have production in 2017.

It may or may not have a double debut with the Z? Or maybe we won't see the Z till 2019 as a 2020 model?
But I can see the IDX in my garage next to a Z. It's unique and refreshing in a world of similar cars.

I saw these two cars in person a few times in Southern California when they debuted. Very cool designs, a little small, but yes, refreshing. Hopefully the production models will stay true to the stylings of those pre-production versions. Especially the Nismo varient.

It's so fücking ugly. I don't know what you guys are all smoking

This is good news. Out of nowhere and unexpected but still good.

Seriously though...
To each his own. I think the BMW I8 Looks totally wack but... People jock it... Like the i8 the IDX may be slightly polarizing, but every cars and coffee this car has gone, the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

To each his own.

Not to be the party pooper here, but that website is pretty much not official in any way. Most of the articles are questionable at best (here's one: 2017 Nissan GT-R R36 Specs | 2017 / 2018 Nissan and Infiniti Cars). It's a shame because, with the low $20k pricing speculation, this seemed like the perfect affordable daily driving car. I love the look.

Nissan originally came out and said they'd produce this car in its RWD form. They then backed off this claim, with profitability as the reason. That turned into Nissan hinting at a FWD version and, as of last year, backing off the concept completely to focus on other areas.

This car may hit production at some point (unlikely as a RWD car), but I wouldn't hold my breath (I'd sooner expect the new Z than this car). This car is very much a concept--nothing more. Even if it does hit production, I'd guess it won't look anything like the concept.

Unfortunate. The IDx was really growing on me. I kinda like aggressive boxy look of the Nismo. The compact size might have made it quite nimble.

All of those articles are 6 months or older than my article.
And it's all jalopnik sourced. Jalopnik ALWAYS writes negativity when it comes to Nissan. I'm goi g to check other sources and see what I dig up.
