Most of the articles are questionable at best (here's one: 2017 Nissan GT-R R36 Specs | 2017 / 2018 Nissan and Infiniti Cars). It's a shame because, with the low $20k pricing speculation, this seemed like the perfect affordable daily driving car. I love the look.

Nissan originally came out and said they'd produce this car in its RWD form. They then backed off this claim, with profitability as the reason. That turned into Nissan hinting at a FWD version and, as of last year, backing off the concept completely to focus on other areas.

This car may hit production at some point (unlikely as a RWD car), but I wouldn't hold my breath (I'd sooner expect the new Z than this car). This car is very much a concept--nothing more. Even if it does hit production, I'd guess it won't look anything like the concept.

The Nissan IDx Is Reportedly Really, Really Dead

Nissan Steps Back From IDx And Q50 Eau Rouge To Focus On Boring Junk

All of those articles are 6 months or older than my article.
And it's all jalopnik sourced. Jalopnik ALWAYS writes negativity when it comes to Nissan. I'm goi g to check other sources and see what I dig up.

All of the Jalopnik articles have sources. It doesn't matter how old the Jalopnik articles are when they have actual information from Nissan and represent the most recent times Nissan has commented on the development of the car. Just because some phony website compiles a bunch of old data and writes a "new" article doesn't mean it invalidates older articles that represent the most relevant comments from the actual manufacturer. Also, if you read the Jalopnik articles, they aren't posting negatively about the car at all. They openly praise the car and have stated on multiple occasions that they want the IDx to be made. Irregardless, whether or not they have a history of being negative on Nissan has nothing to do with them posting facts backed by sources.

The website you linked is not affiliated with Nissan in any way. Nor does it post any new information about the car. It's an article from 11/15 that contains compiled information about the car that has been known for approximately two years now. It doesn't contain any sourced information from Nissan or validated comments about the production of the car. Frankly, the website you linked is not reputable in any way at all. Look at the URL of the website. Look at the articles. It's a bunch of compiled information about concepts that you can find anywhere. They simply slapped a model date on the car for fun. They mention "insider sources" referencing a 2018 model year car without actually naming any sources (because they have none--it's not a real news outlet). While our opinions on Jalopnik may differ (which is OK), they're a much more reputable source than the website you linked, and the articles prove that.

The car isn't being made, period. There are no reputable sources (Nissan) that confirm anything other than the car has been shelved. If you're able to find a real source that says this car is being made for the 2018 MY, I'll be the first to eat crow and apologize to you. I just don't think that is likely.

Dude really... Did you need to go off on a tangent. All I said is I'm going to try to find more info and see if there was more information to back up that article. Being that it appeared as a Nissan related site I took it as legit.

DATES ARE RELEVANT only as an understanding of what's most current. I tried to find a more legit article and turned up no success.

JALOPNIK being negative to me is only valid as they may not be as interested in the most current news as they call NISSAN BORING.

This thread title ended with ??

Finally. There's nothing wrong with me finding news outside of jalopnik. The other article posted was another off brand site so I'm not posting it as relevant.

Lastly, me being the OP, I just wanted to make sure the site was posting irrelevant news.

Tangent eh? Pot, meet kettle (sorry, I had to).

I was only trying to deliver accurate information and validate the information I provided regarding the IDx. It wasn't my intention to frustrate or anger you.

I know you said to close the thread, but I do appreciate the fact that you took the initiative to create a place to discuss the car. You never know when/if news will pop up on it again.

I didn't really get angry. But I just found it overkill as I wasn't attacking your post for displaying the info you posted. Since my info was December 2015, vs June 2015, I was double checking to ensure the dribble didn't have any shred of truth to it in other more legit sites.

Jalopnik, while a great place for GM fanboys, the polarized truth it's the worst place for Nissan info. Not in the value of the information. But there disinterest in our platforms yet choosing to write on them anyway.

Fake sites should be fined...
