With this engine the Z car is relavent again! Take some sales from the Chavy and the blue oval. Nissan just needs to nail the redesign. Even at 3200 would be wonderful!!

I'll just put this out there - a major platform/chassis revision for the Z could be looming to make the following work for its lineup -
The 300hp version would be the base configuration. The Nismo would get the 400hp. 300hp on a platform that cuts a bit of weight from the 370 could make for a base model that performs right along with the current Nismo (the TORQUE EVERYWHERE is my reasoning). The Nismo version with an additional 100hp would be enough to command the pricing premium - I think most everyone bitched about the Nismo only being another 18hp. For another 10k with all a proper set of forged wheels, giant brakes that don't overheat, a helical limited slip differential, trick rev-matching transmission, and another 100hp on a boosted platform? Where do I sign? |

go back to the option setup of the first few years. the new option setups Nissan has in place really makes me think they go grab handicapped monkeys and have them pick how it all goes together. although if it's still all fuckin whacky for the next model I really hope the nismo tech 7at is an option because I will go with that rather than not being able to have a nice interior and all the performance goodies too. |
Personally I see nothing wrong with a 2 liter turbo 300/300 at 3k pounds at $30k. Put some tech in there, etc at $36k. NISMO gets the 3 liter 400/350 turbo at $39k, etc. Add a few things you're playing in performance/price with ford and Chevy at $42k. It'll be as quick but more intimate as a 2 seat fighter jet.

Hope it will be offered in manual. I'm going to post this news on the BMW forum, this will irritate the **** out of them.

The infiniti Q30 has been paired with a DCT. I know that's just a 4 banger. But it gives me hope that we may see a transmission shift with the Z. As the equivalent GLA 45 carries a standard 7 speed automatic transmission and we have DCT though we share engines The DCT is in the AMG version which shows that Nissan is still looking to have its own technological identity.

Typical Nissan. |
The Q60 better give the Jaguar F-Type S a run for it's money when it comes to exhaust sound. It's all about exhaust noises. That's whose getting my money. Cuz all these cars perform well.
