ATS-V...thoughts?
Saw the coupe and sedan at Moore Cadillac when I got my V last week. Looks really nice, the coupe has a six speed manual and Recaro seats. Sedan was white and the coupe was black with the some carbon options. The only bummer? Price....coupe was 76K as sitting. Sedan was 73K....that just lots of money. I think that price point is too high.....by 15K or so. For that amount you have lots of other cars to choose from.

I like it, saw a coupe on a transport truck last week.
It looks like they are trying to slot this in where the previous gen CTS-V was but honestly it needs to be below 60k starting price and with options maybe touch 68-70k. Right now I would go pick up a 1 maybe 2 year old CTS-V for that price and have the V8 SC. |
I got my V coupe, as 2012 certified with 28K miles for 44K or so.....loaded with Recaros, wood trim, two-tone seats, yellow calipers, black wheels, and black diamond tri-coat. Good deals to be had now with them coming off lease and being turned in. Thats how I got mine.

the new V series are stupidly overpriced.
ats-v at bases at 62 and the cts-v bases at 83k instead of the ATS I would go with the new M2. bases lower, same sizing, 6cyl turbo as well, DCT tranny, similar quality interior I would assume coming from BMW. also the M2 looks better than the ATS ats has more power 455hp vs 370hp. also for lets say 70k you can go get a C7 Z51 easily. 460hp 460tq and good looking. there's many options better than the ATS for the price. |
I'd be in one right now but I agree with everyone in that the price is too high. For the price they are asking I could get in a Stingray. For now I'll stick with my C6 GS and wait and see if they make a C7 GS. Who knows, maybe the new Z or Q60 will bring some performance to the table.

nismo/IPL looking like 450HP......that's if the Z ever gets made. Q60 is a go. |
I say if the BMW M4 starts at $65,400... The ATS-V is sounds right at about $54,000 entry price. Fully loaded with every single option shouldn't surpass $68,000
But the ATS -V OUTHANDLES THE M4 in every possible way .. so maybe $74k fully loaded isn't horrible considering the M4 tops out at $90k |
i too think they are just over priced...even the regular ats.
|
I predict the ATS-V will be the most sought after used car in about 3-5 years.
|
I cant get over Cadillac styling, the hard lines and stupidly tall looking rear with the asking price kills it. Id rather a BMW M.
|
All these cars are overpriced, but will that stop us from buying them, probably not!!! There are only a few cars out there in which I believe are great bangs for the buck with the Corvette topping the list as its always has. The M4 i s ridiculously priced and fully loaded can cost you as much as a ZO6 which is insane when it won't even out perform base model C7, but hey spend your money as you like, I've owned M3's before, but they weren't in that price range back then.

Now it's an unappealing gimmick with an aggressive slogan and underwhelming feedback/driving experience. Too sedate unless u flog it. |
