Saw a friend of mine this morning in this car. He recently picked it up and still got paper plates on it. He really likes it and was pleasantly surprised that it was a little faster than he expected. Really appears to be a wolf in classy sheep's clothing.

I've driven this car a few times now at work and it does have some good power. There is some turbo lag which isn't too bad. It has a 3.0 liter twin turbo 276 motor with mid 300 horse power and torque. The styling of the 205 chassis sedan is still kind of growing on me. The wheel option can definitely make or break the look of the car. As for the interior it is pretty refined and the build quality of the vehicle as whole is good.

I personally think that the TT 276 motor has a bit of lag. And you are right about a MB motor not having any hesitation. I've driven a lot of our cars with 111, 112, 272, 273, 271, 274, N/A 276, 278 156, 157 motors and they are all pretty responsive and peppy.
