In all honesty I think the M4 and the F Type are direct competitors. The apples to oranges comparison is the F Type and a 911 which are very incomparable due to crazy different drivetrain layouts and a massive price difference. |

So far, just the addition of the performance clutch/flywheel and the reduction of the unsprung mass by the custom wheels and lightweight rotors has suprisingly ratcheted up the fun factor by a few, significant degrees. In a few weeks I will be laying the groundwork for more power, so hopefully that satiates my appetiate for performance for the time being. With a Porsche or Corvette I would get all of what I am doing to the Z "out-of-the-box". Here in Colorado I see as many GT-Rs as Zs on the road it seems, but Porsches and Corvettes are very common. So the Z has that rare factor here. I like them all! Thanks for the response! |

The M4 is FR 2+2 COMPETITOR Lexus RC/Maserati GC The F type is a 2 seat FR/FAWD COMPETITOR. MB AMG GTS/AUDI R8 AND THE 911 is a 2+2 seat RR COMPETITOR NO 1. lol When I compare. I compare performance and price range. Not just price range, cuz that's not truly being competitive.

You are still obviously comparing the F Type R, there is no way a base 340 hp base model F Type is competing with a MB GTS. In the top R trim sure you are spot on but comparing a base F Type to a MB GTS or an R8 is comparing a sports car to a super car. A BASE F Type performs on the level of a Nismo Z and it weighs more. There is no way I would compare it to super cars. The F Type R with that beastly 500 HP v8 is a different story all together, but the OP wasn't asking about the F Type R, just the base model. |

Drove the F-type S roadster version, exterior and looks are really nice, interior is well laid out and hot.
It got a nice rumble upon start, has an extra button to make the exhaust louder and burble quite a bit. Nice power to get you quickly upto 100 km.h, and thats where the fun kinda ends. Beyond this it seems to have little hard time going up, as if parking brake is on, trust me its not. The exhaust gets really loud, and this is factory, but the speed is gradually going up but not fast enough. I tried different modes but still same. There is a dynamic mode, apparently I can tune things, will try that soon. Handling is not bad but not the greatest, I expected it take corners really easy but felt heavy a bit. I give it thumbs up for the looks, exhaust rumble and interior and it ends there. Oh, u get lot of thumbs up from ladies. If you're ok with all this then get F type otherwise 911. |

Now those are some choices op should look at! Lotus makes great cars, except I have never heard much on reliability. Alfa's unfortunately have not been doing to great in the reliability categories in JD Power polls last I saw. |

As far as motors... They have Camry engines. So that's good. Not sure how good transmission, body integrity and suspension are in terms of reliability??:

There's a reason people say Lotus stands for "lots of trouble, usually serious ".

Evora is a good car. The manual gearbox cars need the motor dropped to do the clutch. Thats about 2500+ at the dealer. How often do you do that? Not very unless you are a bad manual driver. Overall those cars are sound.
Id go 911 compared to the Jag. I like the Jag but they suffer horrendous depreciation vs the 911. Quality wise Porsche is doing well. Looks wise the Jag is superb. Performance and braking etc. Go 911. They are both nice and will make any buyer pleased. |
