Porsche 911 or Jaguar F-Type?

Agreed on the Z06. I'd take that over the GTR any day, especially since it's the only one you can get a proper transmission in anymore.

You can get the Cayman GT4 in the proper transmission, I am not even sure that they offer an automatic. IMO the best all around choice for 85k unless you want a DD, but none of these are really DD cars.

The 911 is considered a DD car. At least in Germany. Here in the US maybe.

the only f-type that is worth it is the type r which is auto and awd. the 911 is best had with the PDK tranny (also AT) and comes as AWD with RWD options.

so all your points about MT and RWD are void.

now for dealing with fast cars when there's others on the road it's a simple solution......go around them. you have a functioning right foot I would assume so try and use it.

boosted Z is a retarded alternative to those other choices. boosting an engine which is NA stock comes with headaches. ask anyone who's done it. it's rarely a smooth life afterwards. you give up a large percentage chance of having DD reliability which was the mentioned above I believe as a parameter.

Every allocation for the GT4 is sold, and people are selling the allocation already and flipping. So that 85K, add more to it. Thats a stripper too, add anything and it climbs fast. I have a 911 C4S, and once you get to drive one you really don't want to drive much of anything else. Sure lots of cars have more HP, but the overall experience is what counts. Only thing I would consider? The GT350H with a few options. If your tall like me, you can't fit in a C7 vette...I tried for 20 minutes to adjust the seats...no good. Maybe Tata Motors have improved the reliability of the new Jags, but I doubt it. If I was spending 80K or so, I would get a used 911 GT3, by upping that number some.

Of those 2 I would have to go GT-R for sure. For a lot of reasons, but the 911 or as mentioned before the GT4 Cayman would be my choice for a DD.

GT4 cayman you wont be able to get ahold of unless you want to pay 150k+ or wait for one second hand.

Even for the Cayman GTS cars, which are being traded by their owners to the dealers for the GT4, they are asking for MSRP and at times above MSRP....for used ones. Its silly stupid. Yes, a lightly used Cayman GTS can cost you above 85K....

yes it can and is not worth that kind of money at all.

GTS with PDK bases at 80K that's before all of the high priced options.

Go back and read the OP's original post. He is refering to the base models, not the R-Type or the GTS (or Turbo). That alone makes the GT-R not comparable.

As far as your "functioning right foot" comment...taking things personally?

I have had two supercharged vehicles and they were suprisingly reliable. Not expecting that when boosting the Z, but I plan on getting another DD by then. But this isn't about me.
