base f type is based at 65k. go get a vette. base 911 all 350hp is really worth 90k again don't waste your money. so base 911 is around 90k. 2015 gt-r are going in the 80's or similar. sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo it's actually quite comparable. as for the right foot not personal just an observation. what vehicles were supercharged? depending on what car and if oem or aftermarket make a difference. |
OP, are you looking at comparing these two for any specific reason? Are you set on buying one of these two. Honestly there are much better options unless you are stuck on those two. In that price range you can get an M3, M4, C63 AMG, Z06 Corvette, GT-R, and in all of those cases I would say you would end up with a better car than an F Type or a 911.

I don't think I've ever SEEN a base Porsche of any model post 2000. You'd probably have to special order it.

911 probably a better buy for resale value

Are they uncommon around the US? |
There are about three of them I see driving around my kinda small town, so I don't think they are uncommon.

The 911 is only a 9 because the seats aren't real comfortable. Its something I didn't notice on the test drive, but living with it has been a bit of a pain in my back, literally. I have the base seats and they are narrow at top, and my shoulder blades are the exact same width as the seat frame, so it digs into me. However, I just ordered a pair of Recaro Sportster CS, which is pretty much the same seat as in the new nismo Z, which I love, so once I get them installed, it will be a 10. |
Hmmm tough question the 911 is the pinnacle of sports cars buth the new F type coupe is so sexy. As much as I love the 911 I would choose the F type coupe but with a 6speed manual cause it is one of the best looking cars out there at any price.

Spending this much money. It's really NOT an easy choice. The 911 iconic performance and heritage sells this car fast.
But the Jaguar, IMHO, seems to have fun factor at a much higher scale. Only because of the addictive v8 exhaust note and Jaguars first "raw" sports car in decades. Torque wins in most cases but, the 911 makes a compelling argument in track focused handling. But why not get the GT-S? That's the one on my list. Lava Orange please? Lol |
