Well with 480hp and those looks for $10k less than a Z35 (which may never come) and all the tech and leather, I'll take my chances again.

I just got rid of my Hyundai veloster. I don't intend to buy another anytime soon.

"2017 Hyundai Genesis Coupe: Engine

Under the hood of 2017 Hyundai Genesis Coupe will be a twin turbo charged 3.3-liter V6 engine that will be able to deliver maximum of 480 horsepower. It has also been widely rumored that the vehicle will carry over its current 3.8L V6 as well as an improved four-cylinder 2.0-liter unit. At this year’s New York Auto Show, the Korean automaker confirmed that its 2017 Hyundai Genesis Coupe will gain a new twin turbo Tau 5.0-liter V8 that will provide an output of approximately 420 horsepower. This unit will also weigh far less than its predecessor."

So the V8 twin turbo will make less power?

Billibob22 07-03-2015 04:32 PM

Who wants a V8 then?

It will probably make like crazy high peak torque at 1500 RPM and then fall flat on its face at 5K while the V6 will have less grunt off the line and rev higher for a more high strung/higher peak output motor -- IF those numbers aren't all make believe.

Which they probably are.

Well unfortunately a bunch of vets of my Genesis forum is calling BS on it. They said that a body kit that's been out a while AND what you guys said about the 6 making more power than the 8. Doesn't add up. Probably a pipe dream but I fricking love those #s and that body!!

On a side note my buddy who traded a 135i for an M3, the M3 for a Cayman S, the cayman for an Audi S5 and just traded the S5 for a 2013 Carrera GTS. Thing is AMAZING!!

Id say telling people you drive a Hyundai is like telling people you did cardio at the gym, nobody brags about it

That's the thing...ever drive a 13+ Gen coupe 3.8? It's no slouch. The Z handles better, it's a bit quicker off the line. A bit. On a roll, stock for stock, a 3.8 will show its tailights to a 370. It's a great highway bruiser. It's not exactly a 370 in regards to sports car performance, I had a 370 too. But it's very close and where it murders the 370 is in daily driver comfort and tech. For less. They've come a long way.

Yes I have driven one and just at the end of the day Hyundai just isnt for me. To each there own, at the end of the day looks like a revamped Tiburon.

JC-Nismo 07-03-2015 07:28 PM

The Genesis looks hot for the first couple of years and then after that, its like Eh..........
I remember when it first came out and I was like dam, but that diminished pretty quickly where as a Nismo Z still raises my eye brow especially when I see another one on the road.

Fair enough. I'm with you on the looks. The looks have grown on me, I like it but admittedly, I rarely glance back after its parked which I did all the time in my 370. Sexy. But, it's a much better DD for me heavy south Florida traffic.

MicntaeG35 07-03-2015 07:55 PM

Idk if it's just me but if you take a split second glance at the concept, does it not ALMOST look like a GTR in the front
