LOL - Pogea Racing is a German tuner, not Italian, so I'd take the rest of the article with a grain of salt. But I do know that Eduard Pogea has had his hands on one of the first early-release Giulia's in Europe since about last August. If anyone can tune it, he can.

Here in the USA, Euro-Compulsion has taken delivery of a Giulia as well, and will be supporting the model with a tune and other performance parts.

A Lil tidbit in this article states that the Giulia will have a 350HP version called the Veloce. My personal speculation would put it closer to 375-400hp to make it more competitive.

Maybe styling will bring it closer to the Giulia but more affordable. That would be a GREAT option.

Mustang Dyno results for Alfa Romeo Giulia and scale weight.

392HP. 389lb ft torque

Well mustang dynos usually show a 22% loss of power which means that Alfa hit their power numbers right on the head. 503HP. So on the dynojet it should read 428HP 425lb tq

3,700lbs
To get the type of performance out this car with about 428rwhp and weigh 3,700lbs. You can smell Ferrari heritage all over this car.

Mustang Dyno. I'd say the test is badly flawed and not worth the bandwidth it takes to download it.

I've not heard of this 22% loss thing - could be but sounds strange to me.

What I do know is that the Alfa 4C is notoriously tricky to dyno other than with a high end tool in a professional shop. If there is any difference at all between the front and rear wheel rotation speeds, or if the intake airflow doesn't match what was expected on the speedo, or if the cooling airflow is insufficient, the ECU simply pulls power. That is true regardless of driving mode (nannies on or off). It was a major problem for a number of tuners to deal with, so this isn't the ramblings of one person. A few blower fans and your neighbourhood tuner shop dyno isn't going to work on these cars.

There is no reason to think that the Giulia is set up any differently.

Personally, I call ******** on the entire test.

Unknown 370; I see you are interested in quite a few cars, but I am wondering what likelihood of if and when you are going to do it? Are you looking to replace your Z and which are your frontrunners right now?

I've been observing cars for 2 years to add. People might find this dumb because people complain about our Z's so much but... with the minor mods I put in. I absolutely LOVE the Z34 platform. I've driven several cars. I can acknowledge that some are substantially better than the Z in overall performance. But the Z's weird combination of truckish pull, exotic style handling, progressively quick acceleration, poise in the curves, while it's NVH gives it a raw visceral feel really excites me. Our Z's have perfect power and feel very mechanical. Not Rx7 mechanical but... for the current times we live only the Z evo and STi give you that certain visceral feel that makes Japanese cars exciting.

That's why I fear the next generation. If the Z becomes any more muted. It will feel like every other performance car. Sure, everything is better than the Z according to the status quo. But the Z is still king in my book when you talk about passion. I WILL NOT SELL MY Z. But I also think about on the final year model Z34. I'm considering getting a NISMO. But that's is separate of my next two purchases. I will most likely get a second year Giulia but I'm really really hoping for a Z35 that doesn't disappoint.

If that doesn't work out, I will open the option of the new Supra. If that doesn't work out. I will now have to sacrifice funds I didn't want to spend and go upmarket on a sports car. If I go that route? I really don't want to go past $130k. So the cars I'll look at are...

BMW M2
Camaro ZL1

In the running but dimensions are odd.
Mercedes amg GT S maybe, depending on price
Corvette GS

As stupid as it seems. I truly love Japanese sports cars. So I rather buy an underdog but...
If I did something like buy a Porsche? It'll be my last sports car for a DECADE.

Oh... I get angry with Nissan cuz, Nissan has literally held up my purchase because of their lack of info. Yes Nissan has had me on freeze like a biatch.

Just had to make sure I was fully awake driving to work because I just saw a giulia. Was not a quadrafoglio but still wasn't expecting to see one yet.

I guess I was unaware that the only Alfa dealer in my area is down the road from where I work. May have to go take a look later this week

One of the members here works at an Infiniti dealership that also sells Alfas. He brought the Qua-whatever you call it to a cars and coffee and it was a big hit. They are pretty sharp for sure.

Maxim, the authority on cars wrote why tithe Giulia isn't so great. They made comments NO reviewers have stated except the sound of the Giulia not being Italian enough.

They claim the brakes don't stop the car? Doubt that considering the nurbergring record.

They said the car is too stiff? Take it out of race mode morons!!!

They said the car is too low.... SISSIES!!!
