Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Edition
This past weekend I took my car for an oil change. While I waited I decided to walk across the street to a Chevrolet dealer to check out the Corvette, I really liked it but what I really fell in love with was a 1500 4x4 z71. They call it the midnight edition. It is all black 4X4 it seems to have some time of lift because it is higher than the regular 1500 not by much. It has the front and read skid plates. Sunroof, leather dual zone air I mean this truck is loaded. I just loved how everything was black.
Unfortunately the truck that they had there was already sold, but they said the had more coming. I couldn't really test drive it just got to sit on it and he turned it on for me. I have never owned a truck in my life unless you call my Jeep Grand Cherokee a truck. I have always had cars, Cadillac el Dorado, (beater my dad gave me) 1999 Eclipse GSX, 350Z, 2009 370Z, and my current 2012 370Z and my Jeep GC. The guy added me to the call list so when they get their next batch. He said they are limited edition only 5k will be made and dealers could only order a few at a time. If he contacts me I will go and see what we can get on my Z trade. I would want them to pay it off. I just pulled up my employee discount and the truck would drop from 55k to 42k, that is not bad. I would keep my Z and get the truck but I cant have three car payments my Jeep, Z and the truck. I cant trade in the Jeep because my wife uses it for the kids and she definitely will not drive the truck she already told me. LOL. Anyways, I am in no rush I love my Z and I am enjoying it. But if the right deal comes my way I will take it. |
The new Silverados do look great; they seem to have gone with a throwback look making them more square.
I have been looking at the Toyota Tundra, but the new Chevy trucks will get me to consider them as well. It is funny that my main motivation for buying a full-sized pickup is to eventually haul my Z around on a trailer. :driving: |
That's a very decent amount of discount but not great. I got about the same amount of discount ($12k) on my '15 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE Z71 2WD CrewShort last year, but the MSRP was only $44k. The discount rate was about 27%.

Just say no. You will do good to get 15mpg. You will miss your car. A truck is good to have, but not as a daily driver. My truck is my weekend ride.

Couldn't even snap a picture, OP? I think I found one, via Google. Was this what it looked like?

One more thing, make sure it's a FFV. The 5.3l FFV has an extra 25 hp and 33 ft-lb when using E85; not to mention the increase in throttle response.

Looks kinda cool I guess. I couldn't drive a truck everyday. Maybe a new lifted cummins though :yum:

Has your wife driven a K2xx before? Full-size trucks nowadays are vehicles of luxury; the Silverado is bigger than the Grand Cherokee, but it's not hard to drive. Have her test drive it, i suspect she will change her mind.

I wouldn't mind maybe having a truck someday, but there's no way I'd trade me Z for one. |

I even thought about getting a simple beater like a 2011 or 2012 Maxima. Something with seats in the back. But this truck is just something else. Just caught my eye and I have not been able to get it out of my head. Usually I go to dealers like a vehicle and then forget it. Not this one. |
After doing a bit of research, I believe that this truck is now at the top of my list over the Tundra. I started to check out all the options and packages, but my brain collapsed after seeing how many there were. Now the only downside to getting a new Chevy is dealing with the azzhat Chevy dealers
