i traded zeus :-(

so... had a bitter/sweet moment saturday afternoon
the fiancé and i decided to go from 3 vehicles (370z, elantra, santé fe) to 2... we commute to work together so we weren't putting any miles on the elantra (only 5700 in 2 years)... we had to have a 3rd car for her for when we had to drive separately during the winter (i parked the z during the winter)... we lease a santé fe sport awd for the winter due to living in the snow belt we traded my z and the elantra in for a 2015 lexus rc350 f sport awd... it's an awesome car with LOTS of equipment with 306 hp... i chose the atomic silver with red leather... it's simply beautiful... stock pic attached (i'll attach actual pics of mine when i get the time to take some) it's not a z but takes care of my sports car fetish with the awd for winter driving while giving me TONS of luxury items... i'll miss my z terribly and will probably have another one sometime in the future but we had to do what we had to do for now much love and respect ~ janglez |
The Lexus is a good car
|
Man just so slow. Wish the car was faster
|
It happens. I was 20 years between Z's for similar reasons.
Good luck and enjoy what you drive! |

1) looks, inside & out 2) equipment 3) ride 4) luxury 5) awd 6) technology 7) 365 days/year driving ability also, 306 hp isn't bad and, i will say that the lexus experience blows the nissan experience away in terms of how the dealership treats u and the perks that come with owning a lexus... they'll even bring me a lexus loaner to my house if my car needs service, service my car, then bring it back to me... and being at the dealership was almost like being at a luxury resort... they even had a hd theater for moving watching while your car is being serviced... a gormet café with a person who will make exactly what you want free of charge... hd tvs with couches/chairs set-up like little living rooms everywhere... i was totally impressed this move had nothing to do with not loving my z or disrespecting nissan... to me, there's no comparison to the z for the money... this was just a personal choice to do what's best for me and my fiancé at this time |
it's definitely a nice car. no one's denying that.

The Z is a young mans car and an old man's indulgence. It's just not that practical with young families. See you in 20 years.
|
It's a very nice car. My wife got one in Silver. It's quite fun to drive in sport+ mode with paddle shifter.

Do you know you can remotely start the engine with your key fob. Press "lock" 3 times; 1...2..., and on the 3rd time, press and hold the button for about 3-5 seconds and then release button. The engine will start automatically after the head light flashing. |

lexus also sent me an app for my smartphone that i can lock, unlock, start my car with... it also will find my car if i forget where i park it... it will also let me limit the speed/distance if someone else is driving my car (like my son, valet parking, etc.)... i'm extremely impressed thus far it's going to take some time to learn all of the features with this car... it even has a mouse pad on the center console to operate the navi system... the owners manual is about an inch thick but the manual for the navi system/tech package is about 3 inches thick... lots of reading in my future |

Here is another useful setting that you can do it yourself or have the Dealer set it when you have your free 1st year service done at the dealer. I changed my wife RC from default 3 blinks when you signal the lane change to 5 blinks. I got these instructions from Club Lexus forum. 1. Start with the car completely off. 2. Use the rotary knob on the wiper control to set how many blinks you want. This knob has four positions: - 1st (bottom) position = 3 blinks - 2nd position = 5 blinks - 3rd position = 7 blinks - 4th (top) position = no automatic blinks 3. Hold the wiper lever in the all-the-way-up position, and keep holding it there 4. With foot OFF brake pedal, press the start button twice so the gauges light up (keep holding that wiper lever up!) 5. Continue to hold the wiper lever all the way up for a count of 8 or more (if you go too fast you will have to start all over!) 6. Let the wiper lever come down one position and hold it there for a count of 8 (don't let it go back to the middle, just let it come down one position) 7. Hold with wiper lever all the way up again for another count of 8 8. Let with wiper lever come down one position again, and hold it for a count of 8 9. Let go of the wiper lever. The right turn signal should flash once. If it doesn't, turn the car off and start again at step 1. 10. Briefly move the turn signal lever down 1 position and let go of it again. The left turn signal should flash to confirm your setting, but not in the way you might expect. It will blink 1, 2, 3, or 4 times to match where you set the rotary knob on the wiper control, so: - 1 flash = set for 3 blinks - 2 flashes = set for 5 blinks - 3 flashes = set for 7 blinks - 4 flashes = no auto blinks" |

I am finally seeing a few RCs around town, and in person they look pretty good (especially in black). In fact it is a lot more conservative than I thought it would be.
The RC F may be the only "performance" car made today that isn't a steaming, hyped-up pile o' dog-s**t. |

If you have the NAV, you can change start up screen too. It's documented in the manual. My wife did hers. The dealer put their Logo advertising screen on hers when the nav came on. Now when she starts her RC her Marilyn Monroe photo comes up after the nav disclosure screen, no more Logo screen from the dealer. |

as a side-note... i'm not trying to state/show that my lexus is more awesome than any other ride out there... just simply pointing out the things that i like about the car... we have a hyundai too... i'm not one of those brand loyal types... just like what i like :tiphat: |

The RC needs to be lowed a little bit. The stock height is way too high. Are you planning to lower yours. The springs for AWD should be available. My wife got hers lowered with RSR springs and she is loving the car even more.
