Gotta warn ya!
I found a vehicle that was even more of a pain in the *** to keep on the road than my 370Z (although it never actually stranded me like my 370Z, which is worth noting...I was never late to work because of it.)
I was told my 2010 Grand Heep Cherokee with HEMI/QD II would be a never-ending failboat. I was told correct! So I wanted to just give ANYONE a heads up considering one...you've been warned! I did not heed it, lol, and I paid. I owned it for a whopping 1 year and 3 months before I dumped it. During that time... -N23 disabled my 4WD low -Transmission leaked and was taken out, seal replaced, and still leaked. -Sunroof guide broke -Both front control arm bushings rotted out and had to be replaced -Random body parts fell or flopped loose when I took it through touchless carwash -Satellite radio randomly lost signal -Transmission had very annoying tq converter shudder -Steering always felt like the diff was locking up on tight corners like in a parking lot -Water pump went bad (again...it was changed 8K miles before I bought it...) -Annoying whining (very loud, as in, wake the neighbors) when I cranked it on cold days, even after replacing the belt. -Randomly stalled once, and would run rough at idle sometimes. New plugs, PCV, air filter, etc. Nothing helped. -Random SES light was the last straw, and I traded it in rather than chase that down and take the transmission out AGAIN! Anyway, I traded it for a pre-owned 2015 Mazda CX-5 2.5L AWD. Why? Because I live in the mountains and it snows here, and the Mazda was cheap, had great reliability reviews, and gets 30mpg on the highway, 24 around town, and gives me the utility that I have come to love in an SUV. Building my first house in the next year or two, Debt/Income ratio is first and foremost in my mind, and AWD and ground-clearance of an SUV are mandatory. |

I like to rent Jeeps (Wranglers) when I visit Moab or a similiar off-road destination. Everytime I entertain the the idea of buying a Jeep, I quickly regain my sanity and reject it almost immediately. Now renting one is a whole other story....it just doesn't get much better when you are risking another person's Jeep, freeing you from any inhibitions that may be holding you back from having off-road fun because you are afraid of damaging your own vehicle.
In that regard, I love Jeeps! BTW, the guy that I rent Jeeps from has recommended to never buy a Jeep |

My issue has been buying vehicles from known "problem companies" (Nissan, Chrysler, Infiniti, etc.) and expecting them to be reliable vehicles.

Well, screw that. I'm listening to what others already know, and just made a safe bet and went with Mazda. Basically, I'm buying known quality and expecting it to be so, instead of buying known "problems" and expecting them NOT to be so...I bet it works better for me! Sounds like a standard Jeep experience. My buddy's wife got stranded after her 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 threw a rod with ~2000 miles on the odometer
