Which Sports car would you choose?

Just curious which way most Z buyers would sway...

dP3NGU1N 04-26-2015 08:51 PM

It's not even a choice in my mind.

POS VETT 04-26-2015 09:13 PM

Sorry, none of the above.

MyZ4U2C 04-26-2015 10:21 PM

I chose the GT-R only because I couldn't get the right 911 for under a $100k, although the 911 is my dream car. BUt if we are talking above 100k, 911 all the way...

ViCiouS 04-26-2015 10:53 PM

A used 991 Turbo S is just under 100k.

BlackZeda 04-27-2015 08:00 AM

Ummm, NONE of those cars you listed is a sports car :shakes head:

Here is the short list for TRUE sports cars:

1) Nissan 370Z
2) Porsche Cayman
3) BMW Z4
4) Chevy Corvette
5) Mazda Miata

MagmaRed370z 04-27-2015 08:56 AM

I chose the GTR just because the 911 with the options that I want (PDK and Sport Exhaust) is not available under 100K.

i guess you didn't read the part in the poll that said WITH 4 SEATS.......

BlackZeda 04-27-2015 01:51 PM

Then I vote: "Cars with 4 seats ("2+2") are freaking lame!"

what if the next Z they bring back the 2+2? :stirthepot:

i mean they're bringing back a 3.0L TT V6......the 300ZX had a 2+2 option lol

DEpointfive0 04-27-2015 02:16 PM

The GTR over the Porch because it won't break

As long as they don't try to retrofit my Z with back seats that is just fine, especially since I will never buy another Nissan.

On a serious note; the "double-amputee/child seat" rear seats of the GT-R disgust me to the point where I would never consider one (hypothetical situation because I would never spend that much on a car). You would think that just by looking at them the GT-R would be the entry level sports sporty car and the Z would be the high performer.

Davey 04-27-2015 04:14 PM

I'd go with the 911.

BGTV8 04-27-2015 04:43 PM

Holden Monaro ............. Chevy engined goodness

Firebase99 04-27-2015 04:51 PM

911. Last year they did a balls out 0 to 60 test, forgot which group. In any event, GTR did well, placing 2nd with like 6 hard launches before limp mode. Ferrari, lambo, Aston, all got two or three. 911 turbo s...they ran out of daylight after 50 plus, balls deep launches. No issues. Consistent 2.7 seconds. Insane.

I get what you're saying by definition. A sports car does only one thing... Maybe I should have used the word performance vehicle for people like you... In the end, you guys don't have pick a car because you want to buy it. Just pick the lesser of all the evils in your opinion.

I went with the 911...It at least resembles a sports car on the outside, and it is a sweet ride.

I don't think any of those cars on the list are all that great looking. The 911 is the uniquely "effeminate" choice among those. Looks like the Z's girlfriend.

DjSquall 04-28-2015 05:32 AM

I chose the GT-R because it's a much more functional family car than the 911. But I don't have a family or that kind of money, so I'll just stick to my Fairlady.

Jordo! 04-28-2015 05:36 AM

PDK runs over 100K?

Then, GT-R.

I think Carrera without the S and PDK is about 95. A carrera S with PDK is about 106k. thats a porsche with pdk and no options.

Mark1010 04-30-2015 07:23 PM

No one thinks Hellcat? Assuming the markup is under $100K.
