The 3.0 TT lives in the Q60... Doubters be relieved!
Yes, Infiniti will build this sexy twin-turbo sport coupe -- in 2016 - CNET
As some of us speculated. The mercedes Benz sourced 3.0TT lives in the Q60. Which gives us strong hope the Z35 may be a monster and possibly bring the Z back to it's former tuner prowess of the old turbo Z's. Gentlemen... I have an erection!!!! Lol |
now there is word its also supposed to get an optional 4.7 V8 from mercedes too ( in some markets)
|
Great news. It must be boner Sunday.
|
Hopefully that concept is not the final design. I realize it's a 2+2, but that thing is hideous compared to the G37 coupe it effectively replaces.

Add fuel to the fire. 2016 nissan z car turbo concept release date | Asistcars.com
One of the powertrains under its hood will be a strengthed by 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-inline with 211 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque paired with electric motor. Under the hood of the stronger 2016 Nissan Z will be 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 engine that produces 400 horsepower mated with electric motor. Both engines will transfer energy through automatic transmission on rear wheels. It’s rumored that this powerplant might use a hybrid system similar to Honda’s Integrate Motor Assist (IMA) system. |

Any news about a 2+2 seating configuration like the 300zx? Or is it going to be more like the g37?

That article featured both the ugliest rendering of the new Z yet as well as some staggeringly bad Engrish :icon14:
Also, had nothin' new in terms of the rumor mill. |

This is going to be great. Sign me up for the 400hp model with Targa Top.

Good news. I was worried it'd get the VQ.
|
Totally. I already told my wife I'm getting rid of the Genesis. Lol.
|
Not to toot my own horn, yes I am, I've been saying for a year this is what it's getting. Lol. However, if if true, ford alwYs seems a way to trump nissan 14 months into new model. Though assuming the electric proves trustworthy in the Z35, I'm curious to see what Ford responds with...they don't have much on the table with electric stuff. Man, that junk is INSTANT torque too. My doc friend has a Tesla S and....omg!!!
|
Peak torque at 1 RPM =

Me too.. I never doubted the Z35 would get turbo or get 400hp. Some guys here are real excited about a 400hp Z with electric motor. I don't believe the v6 turbo will be seeing hybrid tech... It will be the 2.0 turbo 211hp engine that will probably see a 40-70hp boost from a electric motor. I'm speculating the base car will have a total power estimate of 252-275hp. I really hope this hybrid will live between 2600-2900lbs to really be worth buying. Otherwise a 400hp 3,000lb Z would be perfect!! Now that we're clear on engines... Weight will be everything... If a 400 hp twin-turbo Z comes to fruition? The muscle cars won't survive. T he new Z will be the GT-R of the sub $50,000 world. Hopefully? It will be better than muscle and right behind a corvette stingray. That's where the Z should rest.
The hybrid Z should be able to demolish FR-S/BRZ. Outperform the focus ST and slot under the focus RS. Probably be on par with a 3.8 genesis coupe on paper but with more refinement and accuracy. |
