GTR NISMO Beats Z06 & 650S at Willow Springs
|
Was reading this earlier today, sent to a friend who loves the Corvette & Z06.
His first reply was....45k price difference. With the Nismo GTR I feel like it is pushing the price barrier a bit to far now, when they first came out you got a lot for the price, and even today it is a good price for the performance at the standard level. The Nismo edition is just leagues above it but for 150k seems a stretch for the car now. |
1.4 seconds for a lot more money, plus AWD. Perhaps the ZR-1, if and when it comes out will be a better choice to drive against the NIsmo GTR. But hey, I'll take either one. They should have thrown in the 991 Turbo S as well in this match-up. Or a GT3.

Rumors of the mid engine car keep coming around, but that has been going on for a decade for GM & the Corvette so maybe by 2020. |
I bet we see some sort of iteration of one dreamer; you know Chevy is going to want that top dog domestic horsepower spot again! Haha :P

i wonder how well the viper does against the GTR nismo

They needed to make a turbo Z and price it at 52k or so. That would slot in above the Nusmo but under the GTR. I don't see it happening though for this .Z generation. Too bad as I would have got that.

I didn't expect any less. The GT-R is not just a performance bargain. It's a marvel in automotive performance. Brains usually beat Brawn. Hence the GT-Victory.
But these two cars are champions either way... |
Sounds like the Z06 needs an active rear spoiler, on the straights it get lowered but when you enter a turn and go through it, the spoiler pops up. So on the straight, less drag and down force...but in the turn you get that downforce and get though it better. Thats what I get from the video.

Very impressive. The Corvette Forum's pretty hilarious; the thread went downhill rather quickly halfway though.
