i would rather spend 280k on upgrades for my nismo :P it would run RINGS around an italia. besides, im not 40 yet, so i havent gotten the overwhelming urge to buy a pen0r extension car yet. beautiful as it is, if i was given one i would sell it post haste and buy something like the car i already have and use all that money on it lol. super cars are pointless in my mind.

Top gear had a special recently, the 13 viper, new austin martin, and an LFA and went up to a track and got spanked by OLD EVOs and STIs with a few grand in them lol.

normal cars= more useful, cheaper, easier to drive, easier/cheaper to fix when they break, and last longer. last time i checked there arent any 200k mile lambos/ferraris/porches running around.

all that aside..... who here could afford that? lol we all drive Z's

u would spend 280k on your nismo, but it would still be missing one crucial componenet. exclusivity.... exclussivity, class, and craftsmanship second to none, is what you buy with this car. not too mention one of the most technologicly advanced vehicles on the market

thats like saying, "well i don't need a rolex cuz my seiko tells the same time." uhh well yea, it does. but u are msising about 90% of what makes it special. if speed is your only concern in a car, then u bought the wrong car in a 370 anyways. (*see terminator cobra*)

lastly, yes normal cars are cheaper to fix. but $5k a year for maintanence isn't exactly something u hear someone bitching about that just bout a $250k+ car

It would be really hard to make a Z into a V8 mid-engined car with a rear mounted paddle shift SMG transaxle, regardless of wallet size.

lol entertaining response. kinda durpy, but entertaining. I get the exclusivity thing, as there are what.... 500 some odd nismos like mine made per year, not quite that many sold? yeah the italia beats it hands down in craftsmanship and tech. but anyone who doesnt think 280g dropped into any normal car couldnt spank ANY super car on the market is ether an idiot, or knows absolutely NOTHING about cars at all. i see "technologically inferior" cars demolish these cash cows all the time in every form of racing they can possibly compete in. there is no law that states just because your car is made of carbon fiber, is mid engined, and has fancy electronic "make up for your **** driving" assists that its automatically the best option ever made ever. i have STUPID respect for supercars, the italia and GTR in particular. but they have their place.

on so many occasions i see some stupid little civic, or an old RX7, or those old cheap porche 914 "non GT" at the track and they have some serious cash tossed into them, no where close to 280 grand mind you, but still a lot and my first reaction is to roll my eyes. but then they just blow right by any stock supercar that shows up that day like its standing still. Im only arguing the principle of the thing, its 100% possible to simply brute force your way past superior engineering and their are much cheaper alternatives to doing so. 280g in a 370 nismo? U must be dense, full built race 4.2 stroker, TT kit, GT rear end, sequential shift gear box, all new suspension, some sticky race tires, you would be rocking a 1200+HP car and with some lightening your power to weight ratio would be far beyond a stock Ferrari of any kind. and it wouldnt come close to the price. its all just personal opinion. you buy a nice fast car because its already nice and fast and you dont have to **** with it. i get it. the same argument can be made against me that i just used. why spend 50k on a 370 fully loaded nismo when i could go buy an old vette, or mustang, or a supra and make it into a monster for less than i paid for my car retail. its all about what you got. if you really care enough to think OTHER people care that your watch is a rollex and not just a normal watch...... go for it, mine keeps time just fine. and anyone who argues that the nismo isnt a damn fine looker needs their head checked. If i was rich would i buy a Ferrari just to have it? yes. but unfortunately for me im not i guess, so im prepared to hear the only valid argument someone buying one of these can possibly make "your just jealous" :rolleyes: hardly. i will spend my 280 on a nice place to live thank you :P

yeah..... Poor choice lol. I had 2 weeks to find a place moving from ohio to here for my new job so i had NO IDEA where to setup shop, wasnt enough time. Lesson learned, moving when lease is up. But the up side is, im the only nismo ive seen here for 6 months :P any suggestions of areas i could live that DONT cost 1700 a month and have 5 hour commutes to drive 3 blocks? monty blue Z..... Do you have your rims painted black by chance?

In the world where 280k is how much some people pay for their HOA + property tax per year, where the wives can spend 60k in Neiman within a week, I don't think the price of this car is that big of a deal.

Our 280k "nice place" = bathroom and closet remodeling for some. This car is not of our reality (or immediate reality at least) haha.

Been visiting 6speedonline, gone through like 14 pages of cars FS thread, saw many used GT3's that are 90 to 110k getting scooped up within a week of being posted like they are free or something....very quickly learned that our standards don't apply in the upper echelon of things.

You're missing a huge part! The typical expensive car owner is a old middle age guy wanting to be cool. The old civic, rx7, cheap 914 is a kid or a young guy with no fear stepping up in the world of racing. Same goes with bikes. A 50 year old comes to the track on a $30,000 Ducati gets his *** spanked by a 12 year old on a old *** 125cc that tops at 100mph. Something tells me if the same person old or young drove both, the civic isn't coming out ahead!
