2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT

there's NO WAY that car was 44k new. NO WAY. that eclipse gt is 22k new. no way the spyder version puts an extra 22k on top of that price.

schao: You can disbelieve all you want...
WTF? Do I have to dig up my bill of sale?? OK, base Eclipse was indeed around 22; that'll get you a 4-banger COUPE and nothing else.

V6 engine GT edition adds a few grand to that, plus add convertible over coupe and you've just increased the base price by another I-don't-know... When I was convertible shopping, I noted that the coupe vs convertible version of many cars was $5 to close to $10K more, but I forget the actual differential in this case. It's really a totally different car with much more going on mechanically than a couple; power top mechanics, frame differences. So the base on a GT SPYDER is around $36 or 37K as I remember (and still is!). Check out the Canadian website if you want.

In any case, it also then had the body-lowering-kit from factory on all 4 sides, which was another $2K option if I'm remember separately.
Add the leather 2-tone interior which is leather not only on the seats, but most of the dash as well as the doors (not fake look-alike-leather like many 'leather' interiors are)... and every option available except automatic. It's as loaded as you could get from showroom, then we had the dealer send out for custom powder-coat the rims for $1000 as well.

ANYWAYS I was at the Mits dealer recently for service, and a 2009 same-equipped convertible GT WITHOUT the body kit or the powder-coated rims was just under 42K STILL TODAY and prices have DROPPED.

Whatever, call me a liar, you don't know me. But I know what I paid, and what the bill says.

Plus we're talking Canadian$ here, not US, so maybe that's where part of the discrepancy/disbelief lies...
