Weather was great, river was running high, lunch and dinner where excellent. Looking forward to the next run in July. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-f...520FLYER_5.jpg This ZONC event is open to ALL responsible drivers that would like to join ZONC on this run and have some fun. You don’t need a Z, or be a member to participate. I am pleased to announce our 3rd Annual: A Day in the Sierra’s. I choose the Feather River Canyon for its beauty and just an all out fun road to drive. Difficulty of driving skills: med to light. Enjoy the breathtaking scenic criss cross over the Feather River along the beautiful roads carved through the granite canyon. In all of my travels on a motorcycle and now sports car this stretch of highway is my favorite. The highway connects to other greater highways heading north, but we are keeping on a southern route this time. The road is maintained very well by Cal Trans and provides some of if not the best sweepers in the Sierra’s. This run is not a spirited run, we are out to have fun and be safe. Come out for a Day in the Sierra’s, the route is rated one of the best roads in California. Curtis One of the highlights of the run! We plan to get a group shot crossing the bridge. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-Y...0/pcpulga4.jpg Oroville Dam https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-d...0/Oroville.jpg Here is a link to last years event. 370Z Sport PG PS - where is everyone staying? (Holiday inn, hampton,..) |
^Added to list. Not sure where all is staying, right now I have two confirmations of over nighters. I think Holiday Inn, but don't hold me to it.
Good idea for anyone coming from the bay area or from the south to stay overnight. It's a killer drive for anyone trying to make it back to the bay area even if they do skip dinner, it's still a killer. I have been tempted to stay overnight and I am right down the hill from The Sierra's. I am going to make the drive home this year again and evaluate for next year. |
Bump for bay area caravan to sac
|
Come on Mark, sign up and you and Tom and maybe get Josh 370 TT to all caravan to SAC. There is a new guy Philip coming from San Ramon, although he is not sure but think he said he was going to take the Tracy route to SAC.
He is not on the forum yet, I pointed him here but he went to 370Z.com instead of the370Z.com. If you guys are considering the Tracy route I can hook you up with him via email. |
Phil P. is here
Phil P. is in the house. Forum name "Nician"...
I'm thinking we'll have to drive back home in the evening. Maybe stay overnight next year. Kinda depends on if I bring my wife or son. Shame the 370Z doesn't seat three... So do I understand correctly that there are three of us coming from the east bay area? |
Phil, welcome to the forum and the run. Lucky you to have a copilot to help out with the driving if need be, I am solo this year.
Yeh, Tomnavone and maybe the_student (Mark who is lurking on the thread and probably still on the fence) and Josh (jlaughman22) who I have not heard of since his post on the Brunch Run thread, he said he cleared his calendar for this run but has been MIA. There is also John (JohnCNewjr) with 370Z Nismo from the Brunch Run that said he would be going, but have not heard for him yet. The rest are from North Bay/Santa Rosa area and then Sac and Clear Lake. Not sure where Davidyan is coming from. You guys have enough to caravan, sure makes the drive pleasant in a group. |
Ill be going, living in tracy now so anybody driving through let me know we'll go up to sac
|
Its my sisters wedding on Saturday. Haha. If I was free...most definitely.
|
^ Yeh, I still have not heard your beast. I will post your response on the other forums to see who bites. I know of one coming from Clear Lake and another above Santa Rosa and Naz (G35 Sedan) I believe he is over in the bay area. Will see if anyone gets back on the other forums.
Hey guys the caravan always makes the ride and time fly. |

I'll probably get there for some breakfast beforehand. Lost my primary copilot. Going solo this trip unless I can find an alternate wingman... What 2-way radios do people use? |
If that is a go on the caravan spot let me know and I will post and email the others coming that way to see if they want to caravan along with you guys.
Drats..I too lost my copilot and backup copilot...so solo here also unless I find a last minute person. The standard FRS radios like the $39 set of two that I picked up at Fry's. |
Hey Curtis, unfortunately, I will be working and will not make it to this one. But my friend with his silver 350z will be joining you guys. His name is Kavit, along with his girlfriend.

nician, scamblz is fine see you at 8

Awesome trip
Thanks guys. I had a great time.
It was a shame that some folks got in trouble with the cops. The fresh asphalt on the lower Feather River run that was new enough to be racetrack smooth, but old enough not to be kicking up wads of tar was a Christmas present in June! And I found that I actually enjoyed being behind some slower traffic. Gave me a chance to slow down, put it in 6th and cruise for some fuel economy while I waited for a dashed yellow line to drop the hammer and let the engine loose. Next time I'll have some FRS radios so I won't get split up from the group (twice!) |
