ok folks. lets make this official...
this weekend is forecasted to be in the low to mid 70's - February 5th, and 6th. in the cars and coffee thread it seemed like many people were interested in a cruise/spirited drive. we have two options: 1. Page Mill Rd to Saratoga Ave - Google Maps page mill road goes to highway 35 which will go to highway 9 and finally end on saratoga ave. page mill road is a tight road, with a max speed of probably 25mph safely (crazy twisties), however it leads to the wide roads on highway 35 where you can easily hit high speeds, then to highway 9 with many, many twisties leading down the mountain. the max speed on highway 9 is probably 35mph. there are a few hairpins and some slight apex's. 2. Highway 35 N/CA-92 E/Half Moon Bay Rd to Saratoga Ave - Google Maps this would just be the longggg complete highway 35 route with a decent amount of twisties and straight aways. this is quite a popular road for alot of cars and motorcycles, so while speeding is likely, please keep it safe and sane ![]() ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ regardless of the route there needs to be a few basic rules. some of the rules ive picked up from other cruises ive gone on with friends, and some are just common sense. the rules are for everyone's personal safety, so if you do chose to attend, follow the rules! 1. everyone who attends brings a 2-way radio - this is likely one of the most important, as its the only way to quickly alert everyone of any possible road hazards, authority figures, sudden stops...etc 2. because of the 2-way rule...when cruising, id recommend everyone to keep their stereos down. no one really wants to hear your car anyway..its a cruise. enjoy the sounds of nature/road, and your fellow drivers alerting you of any possible hazards. 3. at meet up locations, no revving, no loud music. everyone already thinks you're a wannabe racer, no need to give them cause to call the police and have someone possibly follow us on our cruise 4. when leaving meeting locations, drive safely and curteously. as i mentioned above..we dont need any reason for law enforcement to follow us. that means no cutting people off, no speeding, no sudden lane changes, no tailgating! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ alright, so everyone vote, and suggest a time that would work best for you! ![]() |
