Would anybody be up for meeting one week a bit later and doing a fun but controlled run through Woodside or another good road then grab a cheap lunch? With the weather getting better, I'm getting the urge to drive... Or... Standing around and shooting the s__t is cool too!

Okay, happy to take lead coordinating the drive. I'm pretty new to the area and only know a few decent roads. Anybody have a favorite route that could run 1-2 hours round trip? We need a "tourmeister". I will put a few dates out - let's start with basics. Reply with Sat or Sunday preference please.

Then maybe one day we can do Mine's road out in Livermore. I have been hearing about that road for a long time but never got the chance to go out.
Hwy 9/35 is a good road too and isnt too long. Can't wait.

I am definitely in. I'd prefer lazy Sunday's but can make a Saturday happen also. Bought a nice 1080p helmet/dash cam that could make for some good footage.
Chops: both those routes your proposed are kickass and would be a lot of fun. My votes for the 2nd one. You'll have at least 1 40th in the rear view mirror

So sounds like Saturday and the Half Moon Bay run. Hero Cams/Countour Cams, Walkie Talkies (I have a couple of extra). The route, if everybody agrees, is, thanks to Chop's: "skyline blvd/hwy 35. max whatever your hearts desire on the skyline blvd/35 portion, 35 on 9:
CA-35 N/CA-92 E/Half Moon Bay Rd to Saratoga Ave - Google Maps " Maybe grab lunch there at just about anywhere with enough parking. Then head back the reverse route. I plan to bring my wife, trying to convince her to drive her SLK for a few more cars. Anybody interested in cross posting or expanding the invite or sould we just keep it to our smaller group the first time out to perfect our technique? Specifics: I propose Saturday meet at Starbucks at Ranch at 10am with plans to go pedal down at 10:30. If anybody will need to meet us enroute, shoot me a pm and I'll give you my cell so you can find us. All agree with that proposal? |

One more thing - we could make the Coffee meet a prelude to a drive maybe one weekend a month (call it Sat or Sun depending on what gets us the best attendance). Thinking along the lines of say 2nd weekend of the month, meet for coffee and then those that are able to go, do a 1-2 hour tour and hit the different routes. Chops has already given us suggestions for the first few - I'm sure there are more. For instance I did the Hwy 130 road over Mt. Hamilton and frankly at about the 300th hairpin, I was getting tired! ended up in Livermore and too maybe 15 minutes to drive home to SJC. Little bar/restaraunt at the mid-point where the sport bikers hang.
