Anyone know of a good tuning shop in the bay area besides ZCAR GARAGE in San Jose? I'm willing to travel further out if it needed... Thanks!

The reason I say not Zcargarage is because I've heard nothing but bad things about them.
@Three7D: I saw in your signature you have Amuse. What Amuse product do you have? |

I jus found a place right around the corner from me called FineLine imports, hole in the wall place but we'll see? I don't mind the road trip but I'll have to take days off work jus to drive down, 1.5-2 hrs one way from my house!
Oh and by the way it's the vestito kit, I jus noticed I left that out!

I'm looking for more of a specialized motorsports shop to help me with oil cooler, suspension setup and alignment, brakes, etc on my 2010 Nismo. Is there a high quality clean shop that understands these cars and what it takes to setup the car for the Track?

I have all my work done at WORKS at Infineon Raceway, they've done my suspension/alignment/corner balance/oil cooler/ tune, they use the dynapak system, and will be doing my turbo install
They specialize in evo's but have done work on all kinds cars including exotics |

Thank You! I'm waiting to get on my exhaust and intakes in the next week or two. Then I'm all ready for a tune! anything you recommend beside those parts before a tune?

I would NOT go back to z car garage.. took my z33 there a couple of times and got nothing but problem after problem after problem. It first started when I stop by for a oil change and to check out the so called Z Car Garage. Rob told me there’s a hissing sound from my fuel line, asked me if I wanted to get it fixed. I said do it. ($486.00). When I was driving home I notice the Z started to shake I asked him(Rob) why? He said maybe spark plugs. So I took it in for a inspection. He told me yea spark plugs so he did it ($220.00). He recommend a compression test to make sure nothing was damage.. ($225). And at that time I had picked up a R.E. Short Throw Shifter and wanted rob to installed it for me. Took them 2 ½ hours to install that. After that install I couldn’t get it in 5th gear, Rob told me that it is normal for the shifter to be a little stiff, and he had test drove it already. He assure me that it will be fine after it warms up. Drove it home(52 miles)and still can’t get it in 5th. So the next morning I decide to take it apart to see if align the guide plate(guide plate is way off). I notice that he scratched my interior. So I decide to call him to confront him about the guide plate and scratches. He said “you should of check for the scratches when you picked up the car last night and the guide plate was fine last night you must of moved it when you took the dust boot off” i was so pissed when he said that, wanted to go to the B.A.R.not that bar... the " Bureau of automotive repair. but i still need him to build my motor at that time so don’t want bad blood over spilled milk ..He would get pissed off if I didn't use the parts that he would recommend and makes money off of for my motor build, total parts price is around 16K I check and found on line for around 13k or go with a built motor from Import parts pro. He wouldn’t price match the parts that I’ve found on IPP ..All I have to say is this garage is a joke. Using you guys as a guinea pig.. this is from my experience.. giving you guys a heads up.. don’t believe me try bringing your beloved z there, see how they treat you. i'm done with the z now.. Looking for a 4WD like a evo or a STI. read there yelp review.. they have their friends write the 5 or 4 star review.. the real review are the 1 (really 0) and 2 star review.

I have to completely disagree with the poor assessment of ZCG. I have had my new car into ZCG 3 times now for modifications. Oil cooler install, brake lines and pads, LSD install, Adjustable suspension arms, HFC, intakes and dyno time.
Shop rates are very reasonable, hours quoted have been very short given amount of work, top notch work by guys who spend lots of time on Z's. They are very knowledgeable. I have been around a lot of shops over the past 30 years and ZCG and Rob do a great job. He has gone out of his way to help me with my new Z. He has already worked on quite a few 370Z's and has his own shop 370Z so he knows the car very well. I was so impressed with Service and support I have had that I have offered to put his banner on my car when I go to auto cross and track events. ...Have to wonder about the anonymous one post wonder above who leaves a incoherent rant? Perhaps a drunk competitor? Last edited by Shamu; 02-24-2011 at 08:20 PM. |
