Airline Harvest Run, October 23rd

Hey guys, I'm organizing a run over on the my350z forums and wanted to extend an invitation out to you guys as well if your interested.

Its that time again, where we get to let our babies out of the garage.
This run will be pretty quick, its got quite a bit of curves that are slightly banked and a few open straight aways throughout. Its not quite as tight cornered as 9 up in the redwood basin but still a great road to accomedate cars with a little more speed.

-Staging at 10:00 in Hollister at the Kmart Parking lot by the Frosty Freeze.
(491 Tres Pinos Road, Hollister, CA 95023)
there is quite a bit of parking there and dont think we should have any issues fitting a few Z's. The road/access is lowered friendly and shouldnt cause any problems getting into it. Plus if anyone wants to grab drinks or food before hitting the road its right there.
-We will be departing at 10:30 and heading south on Hwy 25
(aprox driving time is about 1:30. Dont judge by google maps I know it shows its straight, its not. ;))

-We will stop in king city for lunch around 1200 at Cheezers. Food is well priced for size of meals, I think I paid about 8-9 dollers for a small calzone and drink and still wasnt able to finish it. They serve pizza, sandwhiches and have a salad bar for those who want it. I talked with staff and they are willing to accomodate a group and were willing to lend us the "party room" upstairs for free if we let them know in advance if we had a good sized group. (they also offered group discounts depending on cost of us all.)

-depending on how long it takes us to eat, planned time to head back is around 1300. Plan to take same route back, however lunch will not be far from 101 if those from bay area would rather hop on main highway and head back. Otherwise we should be arriving back in Hollister around 2:30

-If you have radios, feel free to bring them.
-Ive never experienced much traffic out here, usually just some small sport car groups or an occasional trucker, but they are pretty good about letting people pass.
-This should be a fun drive for anyone that wants to get out on the road and hope to see you all out there.:icon17:

You are here too huh... Jun from 350. I'll see if I could get this day off. I'll see you at ZONC meet this 9th. Perhaps, we could talk about it a bit more.

Not a regular here, but know that in the past some of the clubs on my350 passed it on other forums so I figured I would see how many people I can get. Will see you on Sat!

hm...I may end up going

This is a very nice road, lots of sweepers, and the surface is pretty good. I know because I ride my CBR1000RR out there all the time.

You may run into a few groups of riders out there, but otherwise traffic is normally minimal.

The riders will most likely leave you in the dust, if its the ones that I ride with, but other than that should be a good run.

I'll see if I can make it.

So I figured out that the wedding is at 4pm next Saturday. So I think I can squeeze this run in.

Any more updates?

Good to hear!
Well, it seems that the weather in hollister might end up being less then pleseant, (which would be a first since I have been around.) but hopefully we won't have any trouble with rain along the way. I still plan on going ahead with the run rain or shine, but rain means we gotta slow it down a bit. I don't want to see back ends sliding "too" much ;)

Hey SilentMed, thanks for letting us know about this. Just wanted to confirm that you are still "go" and was curious about how many cars you were expecting.

thanks,
John (2010 Plat Graph Nismo)

JohnCNewJr 10-28-2010 01:08 AM

hah, thanks for not taking the easy shot on that one. Said 23rd right there and for some reason I was thinking the 30th. Hope it was a great time for those that made it and the weather didn't stink too much.
