thanks for all the input guys! Well what If they call the dealer I got the car from? I had the dealership's temporary plate on my rear bumper. Do they ever do that to get someone a ticket?

Steve Millen is a smart one turns out.. they don't let me DD the test vehicles..

I can cause enough ruckus with my own '04 G.. although with all of the new stuff that's in and out of the shop these days.. It's definitely time to look at something new..

No.. you're still fine.. and at that point you have an easy hour in the courtroom going.. how in the world can you prove that is me? argument..

It won't come up.. they literally have another 10,000 cars to deal with a month, yours will be skipped.

I live in the Bay Area. I commute everyday and it costs $5 for the toll bridge. I have the Z for six months now, and i never put the license plates on the car, but i have the dealer advertisement plate on so they know where i bought the car from but they haven't been able to track me.

i've been practically driving over the bridge for free. but eventually i have to put the plates on, or someday i'm going to get pull over.

No ticket for you sir. This is also a benefit for those vehicles that drive without a front plate. There are three requirements for issuing a driver a red light camera ticket:

1) clear picture of the rear plate
2) clear picture of the front plate
3) clear pitcure of the driver of the vehicle that caused the violation

If any of those elements are missing, you are safe. Beware of snitch tickets though. It is an attempt to make you admit to the violation.

The toll areas have lights on the backsides, which know two things, one if you don't have a transponder at all, and another light for have a transponder but no billable account (i.e. it hasn't been able to charge funds, they of course run a balance for you, don't just bill you for each charge).

The ticket for toll violation runs mid $200's.. so you'll have to factor whether the risk is worth it. On some areas of the Fastrak here in socal (known as the 241 fwy) there is typically a cop stationed in the morning looking for violators, but other areas, like the 91 fwy, is few and far between.

What was funny is a loophole for government workers, a provision developed in California to protect the identities of government/policeman to avoid retaliation or people finding out their information.

They can run through the tolls, but the fastrak people can't pull up their information to send violation notices.. so there are thousands of people who just roll through those bad boys and never get charged.

My wife got one of those tickets about four years ago. Three, out of the 4 or 5 pictures, front&rear plate and her behind the wheel!
