This thread is to post common places where you always see cars getting pulled over in the Bay Area. Also areas prone for cars to getting bogus parking tickets, Traffic Cameras to watch out for, Etc.

Also if you got a ticket and want to vent, explain or inform, please do!!

Here is a link to basically the same story as what happened to me at the MacArthur BART station. If you are dropping people off at a BART station, PAY ATTENTION! The bus loading zone is not marked and officers will wait for you to stop, then give you a $255 TICKET! It has been going on now for a long time!

Walnut Creek, be very careful, especially at night, they pull anything over that looks like it's fast. I got pulled over there on Sat night leaving 1515 club on North Main. Luckily I was sober, no ticket. Just to chat me up!

680 South San Ramon, between Bollinger and Alcosta, CHP sit's on the side hiding out.

680 North at Sycamore Valley Rd, CHP sits on the upper ramp looking down on to traffic.

Hayward, (This one cost me $595!) - A Street and Foothill, B and 2'nd there are traffic cameras all over that town. Also, intersection of Jackson and santa clara traffic cam.

San Ramon -> Castro Valley on Crow Canyon Rd. They hide out on the shoulders of the road. - Radar / Laser Guns

Pleasanton / Sunol Grade, CHP always waiting with radar/laser guns.

San Mateo Bridge, 92 east, they sit in the bump outs with radar / laser guns.

i got ticketed 680 at bernal in pleasonton a few months ago still see him there every so often

595! Holy crap! How many pictures were taken?:p Seriously though, that is steep fine.

I didn't get pulled over, but I got caught on camera in Fremont making a illegal right turn (right turn on red without stopping) onto Farwell. My fine was $500 with traffic school.

This is all a testament to how broke the state and all of these communities are... these things are big sources of revenue.

On 880North a cop is usually posted under the Automall underpass. Also on the Mowry underpass.

Friday nights the cops usually creep in automall, in the Lowe's parking lot, and in Union Landing always cops creeping

Also Mission on Hayward is filled with Cameras and cops, plus the roads have many pot holes :|

a few constant traps:

-the bay bridge, bay bridge entrances and exits, and def. the toll plaza. got my last ticket on the toll plaza for going 65.

-280N and hwy 92

-major intersections in san mateo have traffic cameras that catch people making rolling right turns

-101 and 880 junction areas

Yeah San Mateo has cameras at almost every other intersection

just got a speeding ticket on i-280 north, in between page mill and alpine exits.

so um... there too.

Top of hills
 

Tops of hills seem to be dangerous places regarding laser guns waiting at the bottom. Recently noted places:

Hwy 101 N at bottom of Hamilton exit.

Hwy 101 S at bottom of E. Blithdale/ Tiburon exit.
