Trusted local stealership?

Hopefully the answers don't go against any forum rules but I need to stop procrastinating taking advantage of the steering lock recall before I get stranded. Unfortunately I haven't had the best experiences at the nissan dealers in the Seattle/eastside area.

Besides the recall I plan to do what I can to keep the car away from them...I don't mind a little bit of a drive, I'm just not sure if I want to go north or south. Suggestions?

I just got this recall notice in the mail as well. Have been noticing a few little glitches with the steering lock. I have had some good experiences with Advantage Nissan in Bremerton. Not sure where you are in the state, but that's where mine is going for the repair.

i just bought my car used, i'm first heard of this within the first week of owning this. Should i just show up to a nissan dealership and schedule an appointment to have this dealt with?

Hummmm I haven't received the recall notice either, guess I will watch for it.

Call the dealership and ask to speak with the warranty manager. Explain about the steering lock recall if they are not sure what it is. They should ask for the VIN and cross reference. The recall it tied to that. I would recommend calling and go to Korum in puyallup. They are also mod friendly. If you speak with a Salesman named Jimmy Shinyeda, ask him about joining the Korums PNW Infiniti and Nissan Club. Gets you 30% all OEM parts and labor. Any service work like oil changes up to stuff for the GTR.

I have an excellent relationship with Magic Nissan of south Everett. They only do recall type service work on my fleet and have on occasion fixed something I broke while I was trying to fix/modify. Their labor rates are lousy like any dealership but the steering lock issue is a recall and is free of charge if your VIN is among the affected cars. They did the steering lock recall work on my 09 a few weeks ago, took only about an hour and they have free wi-fi if that is relevant to your interests. And if a dealership service manager doesn't know what you're talking about, try another dealership, you shouldn't have to explain any safety recalls to them.

I talked to the previous owner of my car and he updated me on it. It's already had the recall issue taken care of :D.

Is Jimmy on this forum? I was trying to figure out how to become a member of the PNIC already. Do i have to be an elitist or something?

The club I mentioned it different from PNW_INC. Someone will have to invite you in. I dont know how. Some of the guys on here know how and I am sure we would be ok with gaining another 370z to the group.

Ha, well i guess i just need to keep my ear to the ground for some events where i can meet some members.

Thanks for the suggestions, it is great to know that people have had decent experiences in everett and puyallup. I'll do a little more research. (Nissan should really work on getting a worthwhile dealership in king county...).

@deuce189 I think you and I are are looking to do similar things with our cars. (Track, drives, whatever). I stop by exotics @ RTC every week when they have it and I am totally up for a drive afterword. Actually I tend to go for random drives all the time. I'm still working on infiltrating various Z/Nissan related groups.. but until then I'm up for some cruising.

deuce189 04-26-2013 11:17 AM

^^^ well not only that, but i'm plan on doing some descent modding to the car, it's always nice to be in with the right enthusiast crowd to find out good deals on parts and having mod days and what not. I kind of miss that since selling my STI.

Anyone got any North Seattle Nissan dealership recomendations?
