^ after lunch
quick request from you nikon: how'd your car feel after your uprev? getting mine...this coming friday. not sure what to expect. i'm thinking not too much gain in peak whp/wtq numbers, but more powa in general under the curve. i'm really hoping those throttle flaps opening up will let me take advantage of my 4.08 fd ring and pinion gears!

i've been keeping an eye out. it looks like some people took off work on saturday to come join in the festivities. if that's the case...i'd feel terrible cancelling. i'm not entirely sure what we'll do. at the moment however, june 4th has sun in the forecast. so we'll see...i'll be keeping a close eye out .

if it DOES rain, then i'll throw it across the boards to see what the majority wants to do. we can cancel and postpone or continue despite the rain. whether or not it'd be in the following week, i'm unsure. it all depends on our crappy weather.

Kito (the guy who did the uprev tune) managed to increase my lower end torque and my max HP slightly. I could feel the difference immediately however in how smooth the power band felt. On the track it makes a big difference (comparing to last year) especially pulling out of turn 3b.

^ good to know. did you do anything prior to your tune? ie new fluids, etc.. i'm going to assume you didn't gain much peak. hoping to gain more under the overall curve...

update for the meet: looks like we'll be expecting approximately ~30 individual cars. the lunch at sushi maru is now a for sure thumbs up. we'll be leaving once we have everyone up top at the initially gathering point. plan to meet at the top structure and leave within the next 30-45 minutes!

"So quick update. I scoped out the path from Ames lake yesterday and changed the path a bit to include a lil funner curves going up hill and also a rest area with a micky Ds and few restaurants parking lot.
We will stop at the Destination marked E.

Ames lake Rd to NE Novelty Rd

So, am not expecting anyone to go fast as well, although its much more funner taking the corners a bit faster. But at times there are traffic ahead to make the travel a lil so pace but nevertheless, it should be a good ride and take em at a reasonable pace, we dont want anyone making unexpected paychecks to the state now"

My peak HP gain was about 21. Torque was less but the curve shape was changed a bit with more lower end than previous. All the stuff in my sig block was on before the tune and I was already changed over to Redline fluids (almost a year before the tune) for everything (Eng, trans and diff) due to tracking the car. The AF ratio was pretty much already good so Kito had to do some magic to get any gains…..but I like the results

Ahh I see. I initially thought you were fully bolted on, but it looks like just test pipes eh? A 21whp gain's pretty impressive! I'm more interested in getting rid of the throttle flap limitations. At WOT - our cars open the flats to roughly ~60%. It's never 100%, IIRC. Anyways, my car doesn't seem to take advantage of the 4.083 FD ring and pinion gears I have. Hoping UpRev helps with that...!!!

I was told that it was best to change ALL fluids prior to actually tuning (the day before). I'm going to assume that you didn't? By the way, Redline got busted a while back for essentially...promoting more than their fluids could do. Just an FYI for you. On the contrary, I have a bottle of Redline 5W30 fluid sitting in my garage. You want? lol

Hmmm interesting on the Redline bust……I've been running it for about 16 months and have ~43k miles and 12 track sessions on my DD 370Z. I guess changing often helps out.
