Powdercoating/Painting stock rims

I'm considering powdercoating or simply painting the stock rims black. Anyone have any recommendations or experiences with a good shop in western WA for this? I'm located in Bellevue and would prefer to not have to drive toooo far

Custom Powder Coating - US, Canada, International Powder Coater Directory should get you some referrals to local coaters.

I know a guy in Marysville that could. I'll find out if he's ready for clients.

Nikon FM had his done locally...

I've heard that powdercoating forged wheels may weaken the metal. I'm gonna get mine painted a matte/flat black soon.

Discount Tire on Pearl in Tacoma knows of a place that will powdercoat wheels. While I owned an EVO they offered to strip the rubber of the wheels prior to sending them over really cheap and retaining TPMS. :)

May want to ask them.

Sweet thanks man. If you do paint instead of powdercoating, is it possible to do it with the rubber on? I know it may sound dumb...but if they dismount the wheel and paint it that could work right?

From what I hear you can leave the rubber on while painting. There's no baking during the process.

Guy name Chris - who does stuff for Car Nutz or CNC.. He's doing a paintjob for a full bodykit and then painting my rims.. To get them powdercoated cost to much.. But I'll let you know.. Where are you located..

Bellevue. What color are you planning on? I'm thinking rims flat/matte black and calipers red

Cool - I'm in Bellevue as well at the Bravern.. I have the axis angle wheels and they were a flat/matte black before and I'm painting them a graphite grey.. I was getting tired of black, I wanted to see the contour of the wheels.. Black loses that.. but I have a Pearl White 370z.. If I end up not liking the look I'll go with another set of wheels.. :)

What wheels are you painting? And red calipers are cool the ****...

Right on, surprised I haven't seen you around. I live only a few minutes from there. I'm planning on painting the stock sports rims, I just love the way they look and just think they would look even cooler black. Black wheels, blue body, and red calipers, I think that would be a sexy combo
