Powdercoating/Painting stock rims
I'm considering powdercoating or simply painting the stock rims black. Anyone have any recommendations or experiences with a good shop in western WA for this? I'm located in Bellevue and would prefer to not have to drive toooo far

Custom Powder Coating - US, Canada, International Powder Coater Directory should get you some referrals to local coaters.

I know a guy in Marysville that could. I'll find out if he's ready for clients.

Nikon FM had his done locally...

I've heard that powdercoating forged wheels may weaken the metal. I'm gonna get mine painted a matte/flat black soon.
Discount Tire on Pearl in Tacoma knows of a place that will powdercoat wheels. While I owned an EVO they offered to strip the rubber of the wheels prior to sending them over really cheap and retaining TPMS. :) May want to ask them. |
Sweet thanks man. If you do paint instead of powdercoating, is it possible to do it with the rubber on? I know it may sound dumb...but if they dismount the wheel and paint it that could work right?

From what I hear you can leave the rubber on while painting. There's no baking during the process.

Cool, wanted to make sure I wasn't just talking out of my ***. Now to find somewhere that does good rim work...
