People in NE, when do your winter tires go on and come off?

I'm figuring it's something like put them on in mid November maybe around thanksgiving then off in mid to late march? Or do you just wait Til the first snow of the season is forecasted?

Whats up dood!

I personally garage it during the winter months, but if I were to swap out tires, I would be waiting until around Nov as you stated. You know how the weather up here can be beautiful one day then snow storm the next. haha Cant wait!! Naat!

I would play it by ear, but reports have said to expect an "above average" winter.

I am interested in the answer, as I am going to start snow tires this year.

Been running winter tires here since 2001. Usually go on sometime in late november/early dec. Just before the first snow fall is predicted. Come off usually late feb/early march.

Last year I basically ran my summer tires all year, my Prius got snows by Thanksgiving and we got nothing

they say summer tires are 3 season tires... last year i was able to use them into mid oct... but it was mild. and i got a scare with the first sign of ice. so i threw them on. im not gonna wait that long this year. they came off mid/late march soon as everything started to thaw. it's prolly alot colder for you up north though

Yeah I promised myself no Z action she was in for the winter, but caught myself sneaking her out a couple times in Dec and Jan because it was still nice out. :icon17:
