weather in the tri-state area

I must admit that having my Z for almost two months now. These last two weeks have been the best with the weather we've been having. Especially after being stuck in a jail working For 16 hours. I'm past the first 2k miles. Not sure what i should do about oil change and whether to go synthetic right away. Looking for some advice from some neighbors.
Thanks in advance aND hope to see some Z's when i finally make it to my first meet..

I switched to Red Line 5W-30 (full synth) at 3k. I have another 6 bottles ready for the next change. I switched to the K&N filter over the stock Nissan one. When I did my first oil change I also got a EOA )Engine Oil Analaysis) of the Nissan ester oil that came with the car. The report essentially told me that I could have gone a little further with it so I don't think there would be a problem with running over 3k a bit.
