New Jersey Shop. Need help with Berk Hfc demon bolt!!

Well I went to a local shop this weekend to have my Berk HFCs installed on my Nismo but couldn't because of the "Demon Bolt". The shop tried for hours everything they could on getting this bolt out without stripping it. I also had a friend who is good with cars take a look and he spent about 2 hours on it and gave up. Not sure what to do now or where to go. This is pretty frustrating any help or shop that has experience with Zs and getting the cats out would be great. Thanks. Rich

It isn't impossible but you do have to reach it from the engine bay with a load of extentions... if they are trying from under the car they are going to have a hell of a time.

Got to admit that I almost gave up... breaker bar > impact wrench if it is really stuck on.

Buy a bunch of 1/2" extentions and a breaker bar and lean on it from the top of the engine bay. You might have to remove the intakes.

Yup intakes were removed. Going thru the engine bay.

The breaker bar method is the way to do it. Here's what's worked for me on really stubborn bolts.

Spray it with PB Blaster. Really soak it.
Run the engine until the exhaust is nice n hot. The PB Blaster will probably be smoking.
Use a large breaker bar, and lean onto it while giving it a bit of a jolting push. It might help to have a friend hold the head of the breaker bar to keep it from slipping.

Make sure you use a 6 point socket. 12 point will be more likely to strip it bolt.

I used a Grip Tite socket set and a 3/4" breaker bar with several extensions to reach the demon bolt and it came right off. The extra leverage of the 3/4" breaker bar and the gripping power of the Grip Tite sockets does the trick. If you only have access to a 1/2" breaker, then add a pipe to it. Spray it good with liquid wrench or PB Blaster first too.
