For something temporary:School "substitute" custodian(Elementary, not high school), you'll get called to work day or night shift( or you can choose day or nights)-hours are usually 7 AM to 3 PM,nights 2PM to11pm. Yes you'll clean toilets and mop floors, vacuum floors. Money is money!

Hospital orderly: Transferring patients in beds and wheel chairs-point A to point B!

Go to college, become a auto mechanic, that is one job that will never be sent over seas!

+1 . Go to your local hospitals and see what job openings they have. You can start as a Hospital orderly or patient transporter easily. They always need people in that department.

If the hospital is big enough, they can use help in the Medical Records department. All you'll do is move charts from one place to another, sort papers, etc. Decent pay for starters.

Good luck .

Despite what people think, the construction and electrical industries are still moving strong. I know because I'm stupid busy at work everyday. You could always get a job doing some spot jobs, making like $14/hr.

Thank you guys! I'm going to look up on that hospital one though...
I've been around cars since I was 11. And my dad's owned 4 shops in the states so, I know a lil bit about cars I guess. [:

How good are you with blood and/or other bodily excrement? That is one question I always ask people before I tell them to get a hospital job. If you are ok with those things could you handle transporting or handling a corpse? Hospital orderlies are the ones that have to bring deceased pt's to the morgue. Just some things to ponder. Good luck.

Any trades you would enjoy doing?

They are right about hospitals, they start you with decent pay and you could always jump around to other departments. Also try radiology file rooms, i worked in one for a few years (my dad was the supervisor) we were always rotating new people. Kids coming and going from college and whatnot. Also, the Transportation unit and kitchens are ALWAYS looking to pick up people.

There are also stores and restaurants looking. retail sucks yes, but it's a job.

Careerbuilder.com works very well also. Monster sucks from what i heard

I don't know what I want to pursue yet...
I go to a community college and I work full time.
I'm thinking of either going to tech school or becoming a cop.

If you were up here in Canada I would have you take a 16-month training and become an avionics or aerospace materials technician and then get you a job where I'm working. It's a booming field up here and it pays exceptionally well ($30-50/hour and up).

16 months is pretty good to become an avionics tech.
Can you give me more information?
