They give you anything for tires & TPMS (plus install/sync)?

Idk but I just called them and bitched.
I better be getting money for my 19's or they started some **** that will get uglier.

Damn that sucks. I'm sorry. Glad I had my wheels insured.

daisuke149 08-03-2011 03:51 PM

yeah dude complain
honestly some news stations in your area might like the idea of airing something like that. some local ones sometimes have like consumer news stories etc.

(sounds like you have progressive, they = biggest douches)

but yeah you need 4 wheels, 4 tmps, 4 tires. installed, balanced and the TMPS mated to the car. Side skirts replaced/fixed and repainted. + other damage if any like new lug nuts if any were broken.

I would flat out refuse this, and demand they replace the exact same wheel or give you a cheque for the retail value.

Called them earlier and told them that so I should receive a call tomorrow.
Will update.

lol. do not lie. lying is really really really bad. guh nang cha pah ruh.

Damn that sucks. Always get wheel locks! That atleast might deter some of the scum bag loser thieves. If its too much work they will not steal them. Hense the reason they are unemployed. (Last time I checked McD and US Army is still hiring)

I would also demand they pay for the replacement of OEM wheels/tires/TPMS and any damage to side skirts, etc. You should be getting a few G's at the min!

Good luck buddy!

ScGRaceR 08-04-2011 12:07 PM

wow dude im sorry!

leighspped 08-04-2011 12:23 PM

Really sorry it sucks. I just ordered wheels so I'm worried as well. Were you in south orange?

You should call the dealer and see what they would charge you for a new set and sent it to the insurance company.

The only way an insurance company make money is by not paying. Fight 'em

How do people insure there wheels? Stated value or "aftermarket capped" program?

Insurance companies bank of people either not making claims, or like ^^ said, shafting people when they do make claims. My friend rolled his Explorer with me in the back seat, and his insurance didn't want to pay my medical bills because I took an "assumed risk" by riding in an SUV and knowing they're prone to roll overs! Can you believe that? We weren't even offroading.

But yeah, you should be paid for the cost of new wheels, new tires (or at least pro-rated), TPMS, install/calibration of TPMS, mount/balance of tires, body damage... You should not have to spend a penny out of pocket to get your car back on the road (other than your deductible). Once you know how much they're going to give you, let me know if you're interested in some aftermarket wheels. I'm know we can come up with a nice set of wheels at a great price for you.

And I'm going to repeat myself here... An alarm w/ tilt sensor will do a lot more to stop a thief than wheel locks. Do both, and you're not likely to end up having your wheels snatched any time soon.
