Default Last try: hatch swap

Hey northeasterners,
Over the past few months I have posted a few times about swapping hatches with somebody with a black base Z, meaning you will get my sport hatch with wing. This is my last effort before biting the bullet and just having the holes my sport wing leaves plugged. Reason being, I have a new spoiler in hand (Seibon CF NSM) and I would love to finally install it. Not having to plug holes significantly reduces my costs.

So, bottom line, give me your base hatch, get my sport. Takes 2 hours maximum doing it ourselves. You get the sport spoiler for free (it runs a few hundred dollars Im sure from Nissan) and we can chill, throw down a 6-pack while doing the work.

If youd like to see the hatch beforehand, I can try to make it to one of these meets during the week (farmingdale is close to me) or Performance on a Saturday. Thanks!

You are correct. One drawback, though I hope its not a dealbreaker. VIN can be found in a number of other spots.

I do want your taillights for trade, though. Is that film or paint?

Paint, 'VHT nightshades' as per forum member Shrute's journal. I have actually since stripped the paint off (back to stock glossy red). I have extra cans of the VHT I would gladly give to you at a meet if you want to try it yourself.

Don't want to thread-jack, but can you tell us/me why? (i.e. wondering if it was because you got harassed about it by the cops)

Dont mind at all. I have not been pulled over in the Z, so it has nothing to do with cops. The day I sprayed my tails was probably in the upper 50's, which is a little too cold for the paint to apply correctly. There were minor imperfections invisible from a distance, but enough to motivate me to strip the paint and do try again. Once I stripped the paint, I realized I liked the look of red better. When I first got my car I wanted to black everything out, I guess my taste has changed. The only light still sprayed is the rear fog light because I couldnt get it off a second time to strip it! It works out though because the light is otherwise brighter than the rest of the tails.

Ok, assuming I dont find somebody to swap in the next few days, I want to get a few estimates on the work to install my spoiler including plugging holes and all. I have been to Performance Auto Body in St. James. Does anybody have body shop recommendations on Long Island so I can compare prices?
