ZDayz 2011

Anyone planning on making the 13+ hour drive down to NC.

I might drag my GF along, was wondering if anyone from the area is planning on going?

EazyD 03-02-2011 04:24 PM

It's kind of a hike.. haha

I wish someone here in New England would put together a convoy drive or something. I'm too busy to organize, but would love to attend something closer

I'm not completely against the idea though and my fiancee is into traveling..

ZCarMan 03-02-2011 05:14 PM

FYI ZDayZ is actually in North Carolina. I'm sure that was a typo but just in case. That makes it a little closer.

Econ 03-02-2011 08:35 PM

woops, thats what i meant...

crash1369 03-02-2011 10:10 PM

The real question is what goes on there, is it worth the drive? When is it, somebody throw out some details

Econ 03-03-2011 05:09 AM

looks pretty cool

crash1369 03-03-2011 05:57 AM

Admittedly, I just skimmed through that for the highlights but if I picked out all the important facts this takes place on Thursday (I assume starting later in the day?) Friday, and Saturday? And all of that is only $60?

I imagine lodging is separate though right, it's gotta be, do they have a discounted rate or anything?

Yea, its thursday thru sunday for $65 + $10 to go to the car show (this includes two dinners as well), and discounted lodging, they have a lot of vendors there offering discounts, and over 500+ cars expected this year...sounded pretty cool.

They also go on a drive through the mountains on some pretty famous roads

m4a1mustang 03-03-2011 07:34 AM

Lodging is discounted but if you guys want to come you better call the Fontana Village Resort NOW to get booked. They are almost full already.

It's literally in the middle of no where and you WANT to be at the Village. That's where all the fun is and the closest motels in the area are 20+ minutes away.

Sounds like I've got some thinking to do on this one...

crash1369 03-04-2011 10:10 AM

So I would need a room for three nights right? (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) For those of you who have made the trip before, what does it really end up costing? We're looking at ~$500+ right?

Econ 03-10-2011 07:09 AM

interested in that as well ^^

leighspped 03-10-2011 08:49 AM

sounds like a good time

FuszNissan 03-10-2011 09:10 AM

Depends on if you stay in a cabin or a room.

If you get a 3 bedroom cabin, it will probably be 800-1000 for the 3 nights, but if you put 3 guys in rooms and 1 on the couch thats $200-250 + food + beer. And if you do the Full Access pass you get a Zdayz T-shirt(love mine), 2 free dinners and attendance prizes(headers, test pipes, cool shitt).

So depending on how much you drink and eat. And if you can get some friends to share a cabin, it can really come out cheap.

The most expense part of the trip is going to be Gas.....premium only FTL

Hope that helps

YO YO!!! I'm going LOL. My plan is to meet up with m4a1mustang and a few other guys in VA. I will be leaving LI on 5/17 late at night to meet up with the guys in VA early in the AM on the 18th. Then driving down to NC from there. Me and my girl are having some problems at the moment so not sure if she will be coming or I will be riding solo. If you are really planning on going you better call FVR ASAP, I have a lodge room booked and I'm on the waiting list for a cabin. Let me know if your gonna go

Hmm I would be leaving from Long Island as well (with my girlfriend), what are you paying for the room?

I think its going to run me about 90 a night.

crash1369 03-10-2011 08:23 PM

This seems like a pretty structured event right, I assume if everybody is staying at the same place then there should be plenty to do right? Aside from the scheduled stuff does everybody just run off and do their own thing or what, if I go I'll be gong by myself so I just want to make sure it's worth the trip you know.

Just check out there website ZDayZ.com You can see what kind of events they have had in the past. Lets not all forget about U.S 129 The Dragon!!

Mike 03-10-2011 09:55 PM

it is extremely unstructured! there are lots of things to do, but you can do as few or as many as you want to. we like to pride ourselves as being unstructured. you do what you want to when you want to, and hang out with a lot of other Z peeps.

ZCarMan 03-11-2011 03:45 PM

I second what Mike said above. I went with several of the VA crowd last year and it was our first time. We had a cabin and although we could have went to as many of the events we wanted to, we spent a lot of time just hanging at the cabin drinking and driving (not simultaneously) the dragon. Its very laid back. Imagine 500 people in the middle of real nice mountain resort who all like Zs, Gs, and GTRs! Not so much fun for anyone who happened to make reservations there not knowing we were there though!

aside from the permanent residents, last year was the first year that Zdayz, inc. blocked off the entire resort, so there were no outsiders! same this year. This will be my 8th, been to all of em!
