Dude!

I PMed NYBladeZ because it would be great to get tuned so close to home and the tone towards Performance Motorsports wasnt a great one. Im fairly sure that whatever negative conception NYBladeZ originally had of them has been resolved, which is a testament to both of them. BladeZ was actually the one who recommended I call Alex and set up an appointment to get tuned. I think the only issue here is that the thread died and nobody ever jumped back in and said the air had been cleared.

Do you mind expanding on this a bit? As stated my appointment is a week from tomorrow and I wanna make sure all systems are go.

There all gonna tell you its a bad idea installiing the pulley. Something about throwing the engine out of balance. Talk to them about it for more info because I dont remember exactly what it was. All I know is they do not like it.

That's cool...it would just be good to hear it from him, that's all. I hate when people trash a vendor for no good reason, in effect hurting the reputation of said vendor.

(They are Uprev's #1 NE tuner...you think Uprev would support them at all if they sucked?)

It's a matter of doing the right thing. In this case, that would be to delete this thread.

Well Im pretty confident Ill have some good things to say about them in this thread come next weekend. So hopefully then the thread will paint a more accurate picture of the shop.

I read a couple of discussions about pulleys for the car and it seems like the pulley is not a harmonic balancer for the engine, despite the way it looks. Replacing the pulley with a lightweight one with get you better throttle response apparently, and going with an underdrive pulley will net you minor HP gains from what I recall seeing.

Link to a thread discussing pulleys (in relation to the VQ37)

I sent a PM to the guys at Performance about the pulleys but havent heard anything back. Ive read through a bunch of the threads on the pulleys and the guys from NST seem pretty confident the car could even run smoother with it installed. Either way, Ill put that on hold for now until Ive gotten some more input from others who have them installed.

By the way, wanted to remind people that I will be going to Performance on Saturday morning. I believe they open at 9 and said to come in as early as possible (Ill try to come in at 9ish but depends on Friday night...)

A few NY/LI members mentioned they might show up, so let me know if anybody still intends to!

Some nice numbers, though it seems like their dyno reads pretty high (not just based off your numbers alone). Either way, its about the before and after, as well as the car running better/smoother. I wish it were the weekend already...

Dude!

You could have just PM'd me instead of giving me the face palm, jeez.

Anyways since it is originally my thread I guess I'll give an update. The guys at Performance suck....jk jk. Alex is a cool dude as is Gary who owns the shop. We ran across an exhaust snag and they readily worked with me to get the issue resolved. They even offered to make me an appointment with their affiliated dealership when an air bag sensor went bad.

Results, well while it is arguable that they have a high reading dyno I guess the delta is what matters. With LTH's, K&N drop ins, and 2.5" tubing to a stock muffler I made 316/247 at the wheels. However, my torque band was up high in the power band. Post tune I made 327/251 but with a FAT and I mean FAT torque band. I'm now spinning first and all of second with a sh!t eating grin on my face. The car feels great AF ratio is clean sorry I don't have the graph with me.

Customer service is great I could probably hang around the shop all day and chat it up with Alex and the guys but we all have work to do. Weather permitting I'll be there Saturday morning for a cup of hot coffee...see you there :hello:
