Nissan of Smithtown
ANyone have any comments on this dealtership? May pull the trigger this weekend on a Z they have in stock.
|
I remember they were a forum dealer on my350 back in the day and had a pretty nice drag car, but nothing more than that.
|
I purchased my car from them, I have heard mixed reviews on them but my experience was a good one. They gave me good money on my 03 g35 trade and a nice deal on a lease.. i put 2200 down and pay 380 a month on a base Z that i turned into a sport minus the brakes so far, lol.. def should of just got the sport package..
will was my salesmen he was cool through out the whole process. |
i walked in there just cause they had like 14 Z's when i was looking, (none the way i wanted tho) and they seemed ok. didnt go back since it was so far from me.
|
I started my search at Smithtown Nissan. The salesman was nice, but the negotiation process was painful. I then called Joe at Koeppel Nissan and it was the most painless and simple sales experience I could expect. His first offer was better than Smithtown's "best" offer.
I would strongly suggest you call Joe at Koeppel. |

Goddamnit, thanks guys. I'm having a terrible time finding an 09 Z w/ Sport Pkg within a 1 hour radius. I guess I was late to the game...
On a serious note, anyone looking to sell theirs? |
I think you will most likely find it hard to find a new 09 at a dealer this late in the year, especially a low volume car like the Z.
I got mine from Advantage Nissan in Westbury, who didn't have the car in stock, but found one at another dealer. I managed to get it at invoice after some negotiating, so buying a 2010 might be an option if it is within your budget. Just don't expect to pay less than 32k for a base w/sports pkg or 36k for a touring w/sports pkg. This might be info you already know....I hope it helps. |
Ugh this is getting frustrating. I can't find a 2009 w/ sport anywhere in the area!!!

Why not just go for a 2010?????? |
Well when i started my search a month ago, i knew dealers had 09s on the floor so i could get them by the balls with the pricing. I dont think that time has arrived for 2010s just yet
|
I don't know if you want to wait that long, but January is usually a good time to buy. Sales usually slow down as dealers will find it hard to move sports cars in the middle of winter in the northeast. 6 months could also give you more time to save up more for a down payment, saving you more money in the end. Good luck.

Definitely depends on the salesman, but my experience was a poor one also. I was looking for your exact setup, which by the way was freakin hard to find back in March. In fact, I had to go out to Pennsylvania to get my 09 with sport.
Anyway, the salesman at Smithtown claimed they have the largest Z inventory on Long Island, then proceeded to tell me there is no such thing as a base model with sport package... When talking about prices he asked me what MSRP and Invoice pricing are on the car... My point being, the guy I talked to was a dimwit, but as somebody mentioned above, you dont get to be such a large dealership by sucking. Make sure you talk to somebody knowledgable and make sure you know your stuff as well and you should be fine. Ill also echo whats been said, good luck trying to find an 09 sport this late in the game. |
Smithtown is not by far the largest in the area. 7 of the top 10 dealers in the country are within 20 miles of them, koeppel being one of those top 10. there are plenty of big dealers around that you can feel better about going to!
|
When I started the buying process I was asked by my salesman if I want an 09 or a 2010
I said a 2010 unless the 09 was cheaper?? He told it wont be same price. So I said why thell would I want an 09. I just wait a little longer and get the 10. |
