I've had 0-5% on every car I've owned (except my 72 beetle) and I've never had a ticket for tint, and that was living in VA.
I decided to get 35% on the Z since it's the legal limit (32%) in GA. When I had 0%, I rolled my windows down when I passed cops, and definitely rolled them down when I got pulled over. Cops in my family pull people for tint because they can't see in their car, not because the windows are tinted (if that makes sense).
