I'm with you on that for sure.

In regards to bolting the transmission up to the motor, correct me if I'm wrong but didn't they work with Z1 for some OEM-level accessories? I've read so much speculation over the years that I don't recall what actually did/didn't happen, but pretty sure that Clubsport 370z that was debuted years ago used something like an adapter plate for the Redsport motor that was in it.

They definitely revised the transmission bell housing to the move the CSC to the outside. As for the clubsport23, they didn't use an adapter plate. The 370z 6MT bolt right up to the VR30 except for two holes at the bottom that don't align, apparently it wasn't that big of an issue. I can't really tell by the pictures they put up.

I really dig it in white.

I feel like it needs some brake cooling ducts on the bottom sides of the front bumper tho, perhaps the nismo will rectify that.

That's the one I'll be getting. Love the white. I'm sure many are already working on alternative front ends/bumpers for the new Z. Looking forward to seeing what's available when I take the plunge!

Sorry, but the white just proves what I've thought all along. No dice. I used to be excited. Then my feelings started dropping. Now I'm purely negative. Again I say sorry. Looks are subjective for sure. I reserve my final decision to a real life viewing, but for now, blech.

This thing is less than a 370 in every way except HP and an available 9 spat.

Looks wise its 3 steps backwards from a 370. Its almost ugly to me. The design goal was obviously a 5 car mix up but it fails. It looks like a 370Z with a new bottom, and not a good one. The black roof thing is a cover up to hide the 370 same top. It's trying to take the old 370 and make it Jag and Aston Martin, but completely fails. Or at least 90% fail.

I'm glad Nissan tried. But they need to get their stuff in order. This effort is embarrassing to me. I predict this car will be a big huge sales flop.

Nissan needs a new design and project management team. Their recent offerings suck.

Yes I feel the same overall and did post my assessment. I was going to test it but now after ordering the new M240i, I will keep my Supra and move on. They are appealing to enthusiasts with the manual being so broadly focused and that is ok, yet car is much more than a 'gearbox'.

It is not appealing enough for me to consider, and like you I feel the 370Z is a much more original and appealing design to me. One Z fan. I think its difficult to predict what the sales success will be.

I just reread my post and with a morning fresh brain read what sounds like a rant. I didn't mean it that way, so sorry for coming off kind of harsh.

I'm basically just trying to say that this car, for ME, does not have the visual appeal of the 370. It looks like they took a 370 and beat it with an ugly stick. This is not a car for 370 owners to swap out to. Its a car for enthusiasts on a budget that don't have a car and want one. The availability of 400 hp with a manual trans all for $40k is the major sales appeal, not the looks. I do think its great Nissan made it available for those people. I'll stick with my 370.

On a slightly different topic, why does Nissan always think splash guards need to be put on their Z cars? These new ones shown on this white car look horrible.

I like splash guards because they keep the rear bumper cleaner than without them and they look better than mud flaps

Porsches, Ferraris, Lambos, and even cars like Vettes don't get splash guards. Better looking than mud flaps, yes for sure. As good looking as without them, not a chance.

But as long as they are an option I'm good with them being offered for the people who want them. If Nissan ever makes them mandatory (like the black roof), then all bets are off.

This design had my attention. Subtract the front bar, remove the extra lights, and keep the side mirrors standard.

If this body kit comes into existence, I'll re-consider my thoughts on picking a Z34.5 up.
