How much of a temp difference is it with black roof and say a blue or red?
I'm curious?

I'll be in my bunk!

That's beyond stupid only 3 freaking colors that won't have a black roof. It should be an option on every color to have a blacked out roof or not. I'm sure it won't cost Nissan that much more to allow that option. It's little choices like this that make me scratch my head at what Nissans designers are doing.

If you go back and read my original post, I basically say the same thing. I bet that black roof thing changes quickly on year #2 once they get more feedback from people.

Black roof is relatively easy to ADD to a solid color car with a wrap. In comparison its very hard to take it away.

I think its a very poor decision at Nissan. Very poor.

Technically, only 2 freaking colors that won't have a black roof, since Black metallic is one of the 3 colors

You are right. Splitting hairs it's possible the black on the roof isn't metallic, but that really won't matter much at all.

But when you put it like that, it's even worse.

The black top should be a paid for add on option to any color, period. I haven't checked the other forum but I hope there are a lot of people complaining about this. There is still time for Nissan to change their plans before the official ordering program starts. I know for a fact I will not even consider this car if I HAVE to get a black roof to get a cool color like blue, white, or yellow. No dice what so ever. Hopefully they are paying attention.

For all the things they got right Nissan sure as heck got a lot of little things wrong and that is in the end what is make or break for a lot of buyers. When you're paying 40k+ for a car you expect stupid things like roof colors to have been figured out. I'm not saying Nissan needs a 100+ combination color selector like Corvette but at least letting the buyer chose to have a black roof or not it's pretty basic stuff IMHO.

Look guys, this is V1. I'm sure some or all of the options we talk about will be added in future model years. It's classic Nissan. Same body, small additions here and there so they can call it "new" model year.

Nismo will be another teaser.

Umm, that's the way it works with every other car as well. Release brand new design in year one, improve and correct faults in subsequent model years.

You want perfection; wait until the final model year to buy.

I have a good friend who's dad has stuck to that principle on nearly every vehicle he's ever bought. He waits until the final year of production for a car or truck, just before the new model is about to be released, and then he buys the final model year for the outgoing model, with all the options and bells and whistles. Seems to have served him quite well over the years, and all of his vehicles are always in tip-top shape.

Or get the 2012 370Z like I did. :>)

Same great looks of the original 2009, but with all the bugs fixed. After 2012 is an aesthetic mixed bag for my tastes.
