IMO,there will not be any major changes to the exterior design of the PROTO.
keep in mind that the 400Z was not designed by a group of people.
It was penned by Alfonso Albaisa Nissan's design guru.
The overall look and details mimic his past work.

well they put their pride aside if they want the car to sell and nissan to keep paying them lol

the front and rear need tweaks for me to pay them.

the front - just alter that gaping hole a touch just to change the aesthetic slightly.

the rear- stretch the height of the taillight section to fir the space. the empty gap between the bottom of the lights and the bumper is horrendous.

their work is in tact just slightly altered. everyone wins and they get my 50-60k.

Looks better up close. You can actually see the details of the lines of the car which you can't really see with that bright yellow color from far away. If they can just make the tail lights larger and fix the grill I'd be OK with everything else.

I have to agree on the rear. To me,the entire rear section instead of the top half, needs to be the same.Possibly the bottom under the tail lights needs to be black. This would lower the look of the car. Or,make the tail ights bigger to
fit the space. They seem out of proportion.
All the comments including mine are from the photos. Seeing car in person may give a different perspective.
Overall,I think the design flows like most of Albaisa's past work. Sharp edges,
minimal roundness(opposite to the 300z).Very contemporary.
I have a problem with the DRL's in the front. I know DRL's are the thing to do.
But,these look cheap. Maybe in person, better?

honestly i dont think being there in person will save the rear. that big gap is just bad. the light area should just be enlarged to fill the space better. to me it just looks like a bad rendition of 240sx rear lights.

also, i keep seeing that random small body piece that is between the hood and fender just looks lazy like why? lol

Maybe I’m partial, but the more I look at the pictures the more I like this redesign. Waaaaay cleaner than the Supra. Wish they’d have picked a better color though. Not in love with the nose, but Apparently it looks a lot better in person (according to Motor Trend). Either way, that can be easily changed after market. I’m more concerned with what’s gonna be under the hood.

All show and no go is going to be a deal breaker for me.

I know I’m old and cranky, but as long as we’re picking nits... I’m not in love with the digital dash. All Analog gauges please!

And get off my lawn!

yeaaaaaaa i gotta go with no on this one.

the new digital dash looks amazing and actually makes the interior feel like it's somewhat on par with the times and tech of today.

if this car is gonna be the Z for the next 10 years or so i think it's the right move.

Ok, can we go with ALL digital then? Having the tri cluster in analog looks as dumb as that digital clock and the Atari era thingy in my 370z.

I do prefer analog gauges also, but there’s an advantage to a digital screen...the ability to choose what to display and arrangement of them. On a track day, imagine the pressure and temp info needed all on the same screen and arranged to your liking...then on your drive home, switch it back to a regular view.

Will have to wait an see if the display arrangement is customizable tho...and what engine info will be available to show.

Hope this isn’t too much faith in Nissan Lol
