The bmw supra didnt get 50hp bump 1 yr after the release. It makes no sense. Its probably the same hp, but instead they didnt lie about the hp rating for the 2020 model line imo.

I'll be in my bunk!

No, there were actual changes to the engine and the Supra HP bump is legit.

There were independent dyno testing and toyota definitely down played their hp. I assume u know this.
Similar to how McLaren did it with their 720s.
That hp figure is at the crank and again i assume u know this.
I'm not saying they didnt make any changes, but definitely not a 50hp bump for the 2020 model.
Maybe 10hp bump or something and making little changes here and there.

I'll be in my bunk!

It doesn’t matter whether Toyota underrated or not. Back to back dyno testing of a 2020 and a 2021 verified the difference.

https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...a-dyno-tested/

“First up: the 2020 Supra. Even with the power-sapping driveline losses of the transmission and rear axle in play, the dyno recorded 346 horsepower and 409 lb-ft of torque.”

“After a few runs on the dyno, the 2021 engine put down 388 horsepower and 421 lb-ft at the wheels. Remove the driveline losses, and the engine appears to be capable of 400 horsepower at the crank.”
