per jalopnik:

Another interesting nugget in Nissan’s Canadian trademark filing is a reference to the logo being used with “Electrically-assisted land vehicles...”

I believe the electric assist is in reference to the new Nissan logo, not the new Z logo.

That's not a new Z logo at all. It's the old Z logo, used on the 240-260-280's. It seems to fit with the report that the next redesign will take some cues from the 240Z's.

Anybody read Forbes? He didn't seem to state his source [sigh], but I'll post the article anyway:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/peterly.../#60a209b2af41

So if Nissan does to the 370Z like they did with the Frontier with an engine replacement, it might be slightly promising. Throw in an interior refresh, then we're talking. If the brand new model is going to be some sort of hybrid and drops the manual transmission I plan to just get the last remaining model before it goes completely EOL.

Time to put some money in the bank.

When he said this in the article. The whole thing became bullchit.

"An updated Nismo-spec Z, developed by Nissan’s in-house racing and customizing arm, which was added to the lineup in 2017, employed a tweaked V6 generating 350hp."

Old news. He states his source is Japan’s Best Car Magazine. The magazine says it’s sources are Nissan insiders. I posted a picture from the article several weeks ago.

The 2021 Z will have the engine from the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport- 3.0L V6 twin turbo, probably tuned so it would have a bit more than the Q60 Red Sport's 400hp. Hopefully a manual would be available. It wouldn't have the new 3.8L V6 non-turbo engine that the Frontier is getting which was designed for trucks.

That has been said every year since the VR30 hit the market. Don't hold your breath

Did you know the vq35 was designed for trucks?

What truck was the VQ35 ever used in? The Frontier (and my Xterra which is no longer made) uses the 4.0L V6 which designed for truck use.
